When watching this did anyone else feel like you just walked up on their random conversation at a party and they're just hanging out like normal peeps? LOL
This is hilarious, not only in hindsight because Chris O'Dowd is in The Dark World, but also because Tom's so earnestly explaining what happened in Avatar.
I aprecciate how Tom sees more deep things in a film like "Avatar", which was entirely underestimated for many critics about its story. I've heard to much people watching "Avatar" only like THE FIRST 3D MOVIE and nothing more. But Tom sees beyond that and get something really wise of it.
And you bought that??? Tom Hiddleston who never shuts up about every talent he doesn't possess?? Well, I guess some people have to buy into the bullshit to make the industry work...
It's that vivid knowing squint he does that makes you go there with him. I love that he is so readily readable, it's as if he hides nothing from you that he's thinking.
Poor Tom looks like he's trying to have a conversation with a drunk person. I really want to know what he was going to say when he said "If I was Sam..."! Especially considering it started with "I'd have gone there", referring to Zoe Saldana.
Everyone gets so offended by Chris, it's hilarious. He's a comedian, and just having the craic with Tom and the interviewer - surely anyone can see that? People only consider him overly vociferous because Tom is such an articulate, gentlemanly guy.
I notice how every time when Tom talks, he looks and stares at people eyes, that's a sign of sincerity, honesty and politeness (obviously what the other guy Chris is lacking of and seem to want all the attention and all the argument) meanwhile Tom is there waiting patiently for his turn and letting him finish. What a gentleman! That's why I love him so much!
Wow, Tom's nearly as tall as Chris! Chris is like 6 foot 3 or something. Impressive! :) Love them both, but they're so different - Tom's such a polite Englishman, while Chris is like he's having an argument in a pub over a few pints ;) So much love for Chris and Tom
Tom's so sweet and attentive. Too bad Chris overpowered him, but I just love Tom all the more for letting him... He doesn't need to overpower or talk over someone to be amazing hm(: And Tom basically keeps intense eye contact throughout the whole thing... Just...
This video is very revealing about both Tom and Chris O. With Tom, you get a clear idea of how earnest he is, how devoted he is to cinema, and how smart and knowledgeable he is about his craft. He's a total English gentleman, politely but firmly disagreeing with Chris. He sticks to his guns in the argument, but you can tell he's more focused on getting across to Chris than on just winning the argument or scoring points. He's clearly coming from a good-natured perspective. When Chris says something negative about Zoe Saldana, Tom jumps right in to praise her professional abilities. Throughout the whole thing, he seems to be trying to help Chris out of the hole he is digging for himself by engaging him on an intellectual level. He's respectful throughout and totally unfazed by Chris' odd behavior. Personally, I would probably have been uncomfortable, even offended by some of the things Chris said. Unfortunately, Chris comes across very poorly. It may just be that he'd had too much to drink, but he's really negative and really insulting about Avatar and Cameron, for some unknown reason. And he just won't let it go. He should not have been making comments like that in front of a camera--out of professional courtesy, but also just out of self-preservation. Even his initial approach, interrupting Tom's interview, is aggressive (actually, that part is cut off in this video). The worst part, to me, is when he's talking about Zoe. So sexist and inappropriate, fixating on her sex appeal, as if that had anything to do with her talent. It's disrespectful. Plus, he's just wrong about Avatar. (I'm not a huge fan of the movie, but Tom's meta is very convincing.) Maybe Chris resented losing the award to Tom. Maybe this was just a bad day. Maybe he was still new to Hollywood and hadn't learned to watch what he says in front of cameras yet. At least he was transparent about what he really thinks, but what he really thinks totally changed my opinion of him.
Perhaps, Tom would have gotten to it eventually, but the film is about colonialism and its relationship to resource extraction. Avatar mirrors what has happened, for instance, in Guatemala, where Canadian mining companies have literally burned villages down, raped and plundered to get valuable land for mining. Might be considered too controversial a topic for the carpet.
Its nice to see tom hiddleston and chris O'Dowd talking to each other about avatar I also loved the film for its visuals and the story wish I had been there talking each of them about avatar to there both amazing two incredible actors Chris O dowd especially because hes really A funny person in films and in general its the accent he has me thinks and Tom hiddleston accent overall sexy and hes dreamy 😍😍 could listen to Tom hiddleston all day
This video provides Tom can hangout with anyone n find something to talk about n have fun .cause him n Chris are very different yet Tom wasn't offended or Arrogant Towards Chris who was drunk and had actually lost to Hiddleston that night .He also defended Zoe acting n how much effort she put into it Avatar ❤ that he is always willing to stand up for others in a very none jerkish n none arrogant way .
i wonder if the reason people don't look straight on at him like he looks at them is because not a lot of people do that nowadays... hold such direct eye contact i mean ha.
Poor Tom is trying to talk sense to this guy, who is probably half drunk and in love with his own voice. LOL He also has that earnest look that only true nerdy boys get when they try to explain something important to them that no one else cares about, like the color of light sabers and things like that. I heart him so much.
Yeah, I feel the same. I think he genuinely does love the film and can understand it on a deeper level, how it relates to people, etc. That's the way we fans go overboard analyzing the stuff we like. And Chris is just like, they bomb a tree, that's all there is to the movie.
Most actors when you see them outside of a role, you don’t see them as that character. Everytime I watch Tom I see Loki. His expressions his attitude his way of speaking, Tom truly wove Loki out of himself, most amazing fun yet tragically torn and heartbroken, character ever in movies, thanks Tom. 😍
The visuals were great but when I first watched it, I cried and got so excited because the Na'vi reminded me so much of Native Americans, to the Navajo to the Plains Indians, and the story to me was these indigenous humble creatures who were so connected with the Earth that their power derived from it and here these foreigners try to take it away as monsters and the climax was to fight back and to try to hold on to that sense of lifestyle, so excuse me if you think there wasn't a story...
His eyes....that stare....Tom his epicness all over his Person :) hes so intent on the guy beside him, its Marvalous to watch :) His stare is perfect, Like he can see right into the other guys soul.
It will be interesting if Zoe Saldana's marvel character (from Guardians) ever encounters Loki and they get to work together. I'd like to see that dynamic between the actors, but I haven't seen Guardians yet so I don't know what the dynamic would be like w/ the characters.
Jenni208 I was already thinking how interesting their two characters would be together in future Marvel movies because they both have worked for Thanos (The Ultimate Bady) in the films at one point.
And don't get me wrong, I love O'Dowd, but chances are he was probably drunk so he might not have really realized he was being rude by interrupting him. But I agree, Tom is just a gentleman all around and he's not the type to get angry over something like that.
Tom looks so offended and like he's refraining himself from saying,"This idiot." Or maybe that's just me. Avatar was such a good movie, I don't understand what Chris' deal is. This is going to affect how I see him now.
No your opinion is 100% correct. Just like titanic, sure it was a good movie (Avatar) but many movies that came out that year were far better! The Hurt Locker was much much better
I feel so sorry for Tom here. He's clearly annoyed by the harsh oversimplification of the movie, but he keeps getting cut off, and refuses to do the same. He's trying to be polite, and you know what, I commend him for that.
I love this video. Chris O'Dowd's summary of Avatar is so funny and kinda accurate. For those girls with a really unhealthy obsession with Hiddleston, Tom is a gentleman he won't interrupt a person talking to him or get angry about it. If he did those things, he WOULDN'T be a gentleman.
I totally couldn't understand any of that. Just like I didn't understand the movie. Well, I guess I understood it because there was nothing to understand. (I can't hear what Tom is saying. Either he's a genius or he's very easily entertained! Either way, he looks and sounds adorable. An aesthetic feast, just like "Avatar," lol.)
Chris, stop asking questions and then talking over Tom's answers. Unlike you, he actually has intelligent things to say. Tom, you are a wonderful human being for pointing out Zoe Saldana's talent and ownership of her role instead of only focusing on her sexiness.
The blue guys. Judging by what they're talking about. But dang! It would be so awesome if Tom Hiddleston was talking about the cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender and saying that he loved it!!!
They're both right. It's a quality movie with great underlying themes, but it's a story we've all seen before. And pardon my probable bias, being a 90s kid, but it wasn't quite as heartfelt as Pocahontas, perhaps due to the lack of singing.
If you wonder how Tom feels. Just go sober to a party where everyone is drunk and discuss something that is just a tiny bit complex with someone who is drunk.
I agree! :) It's funny to me how the same people who say it's the worst movie ever made or that it's plot/story/narrative had no meaning or was too cliche, were most likely the same people who have made it one of the biggest billion dollar grossing films of all time...just sayin'...;)
Tom is too gracious and and lovely to think this but truly his inner dialogue during this conversation should have been “I’m a god you dull creature” Chris O’Dowd was just obnoxious and rude.
I actually liked Avatar on all points (the visuals AND the story.) Part of me thinks that maybe people just expected the story to be weak because it was such a big visual effects film, and usually when you have films like that, no effort is put in to the plot. It's not the greatest film ever made, but the story definitely isn't bad.
When watching this did anyone else feel like you just walked up on their random conversation at a party and they're just hanging out like normal peeps? LOL
YES THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I FELT!
Does anyone else just watch these type of videos to hear Tom talk, because that's enough to make me wanna watch it 😍
you are so beautiful....
Yes. So me. Lol.
Yup. Absolutely! 😂
yes
Yeah I do, let's be friends
This is hilarious, not only in hindsight because Chris O'Dowd is in The Dark World, but also because Tom's so earnestly explaining what happened in Avatar.

🍷👍
I love Tom. I remember him saying once that he never felt like he was worth listening to, i love how he stood his ground.
When did he say that? Of course he is worthy
@@StellaOrdonez669 I wanna know too XD he's so precious ♡
And you bought that??? Tom Hiddleston who never shuts up about every talent he doesn't possess?? Well, I guess some people have to buy into the bullshit to make the industry work...
@@tedfaun2159 what exactly did he say though?
WHEN TOM SAYS "in a sexy way " @ 2:08 AND HIS EYES LOOK SO SEDUCTIVE I WANT TO DROWN MYSELF IN COTTON CANDY
+CMPunksx I saw them! Like one moment they changed and I was like AHHHH
ahahahaha yes!!
Oof same! I love it when he does that! 😍😍😍
It's that vivid knowing squint he does that makes you go there with him. I love that he is so readily readable, it's as if he hides nothing from you that he's thinking.
the camera man contiously zooms onto toms face....HE'S BEEN HIDDLESTONED
The way he puts his tongue in-between his teeth when he laughs puts a smile on my face every time ... absolutely adorable
😜😝😛😋🤪
Poor Tom looks like he's trying to have a conversation with a drunk person.
I really want to know what he was going to say when he said "If I was Sam..."! Especially considering it started with "I'd have gone there", referring to Zoe Saldana.
There’s nothing better than drunk Chris O’ Dowd
Everyone gets so offended by Chris, it's hilarious. He's a comedian, and just having the craic with Tom and the interviewer - surely anyone can see that? People only consider him overly vociferous because Tom is such an articulate, gentlemanly guy.
Santa could I please for once wake up on Christmas day and see this man wrapped in adorable red gift wrap under my tree? Please?
Which one?
That was somewhat creepy... LOL
oh and tom is so calm and he speaks so beautifully while the other guy is yelling and interrupting. SUCH CLASS.
he always searchs the eyes, such a charmming man
I love Chris O'Dowd's way of thinking.
I feel like a nosy in this conversation just to admire Tom Hiddleston
Me: *sees video*
*gets buttered popcorn*
*lays on bed*
*gets comfortable*
Me:this is gunna be good
You can totally tell that Tom downright disagrees with the guy... He's just too polite to say so. ;) Such a gentleman!
Tom looks so bright eyed and beautiful❤️❤️😭💝💝😍
Wow, Tom's nearly as tall as Chris! Chris is like 6 foot 3 or something. Impressive! :) Love them both, but they're so different - Tom's such a polite Englishman, while Chris is like he's having an argument in a pub over a few pints ;)
So much love for Chris and Tom
Tom's so sweet and attentive. Too bad Chris overpowered him, but I just love Tom all the more for letting him... He doesn't need to overpower or talk over someone to be amazing hm(: And Tom basically keeps intense eye contact throughout the whole thing... Just...
Yeah. You can see that Tom genuinely likes the film and can understand the motives and feelings of the characters and all the deep themes.
TOM.....THE GENTLEMAN!

It was a shit film that treated people with disabilities like pathetic, escapist clowns. People without legs can and do run on their own.
Had no idea that was going on in Guatemala
Teeka Ferguson the government and media really hides it
Teeka Ferguson And were ashamed of our history with the native Americans

Chris is so funny! He seems like one of those people that just loves to talk to you, he seems really down to earth!
i didnt get the big deal of avatar either lol
I feel like Tom is trying to talk about it seriously like a fan would
Someone needs to turn Chris off and on again.
Poor Tom is trying to talk sense to this guy, who is probably half drunk and in love with his own voice. LOL He also has that earnest look that only true nerdy boys get when they try to explain something important to them that no one else cares about, like the color of light sabers and things like that. Zoe's character wouldn't take a minute of Loki's shit. She's a badass green chick! 👊🏾
Tom is so lovely. Chris O'Dowd is hilarious but he looks so uncouth next to Hiddleston!
I LOVED WATCHING AVATAR it was sooo good. i watched it on a plane my first time änd it was AMAZING
this is so adorable. why are they talking about Avatar. it's like we wandered into a chat at the pub... haha, love it!
And don't get me wrong, I love O'Dowd, but chances are he was probably drunk so he might not have really realized he was being rude by interrupting him. But I agree, Tom is just a gentleman all around and he's not the type to get angry over something like that.
my god! chris just let Tom speak damn it
There’s so much to love about Tom. Even though I love everything about him my favorite physical feature is his smile 🥰
Oh wow! Inadvertently walking into a conversation between these gentlemen!?!? 💖 YAAAAY!!!
i love his little "ehehehe" at the end. its so cute
Tom looks so offended and like he's refraining himself from saying,"This idiot." Or maybe that's just me. Avatar was such a good movie, I don't understand what Chris' deal is. This is going to affect how I see him now.
DRUNK CHRIS AND SWEETY TOM TOGETHER INTERNET DO U WANT ME 2 DIE?
tom has such strong eye contact...
now i want to see a IT crowd / Loki crossover...
He looks into their eyes.
OMG tom hiddleston is me!!! I'm always defending avatar about how good it is!! That it wasn't just visual effects but there was a story behind it lol
2:10 He sticks his tongue out when he laughs
"They bomb a tree for a hour" I can't explain how true this is
Guys, stop hating on Chris. He's obviously drunk and not completly aware of how rude he's being.
I can't even hear what he's saying lol
If he didn't understand Avatar, he should have tried turning the DVD player on and off again so he could fully understand the plot.
Hehe I love Tom's laugh after Chris says "She's a sexer".
One does not simply interrupt Tom Hiddleston
Chris doesn't realise that we all want to listen to Tom, not him.
HAHAHA this is so cute lmao!! :'D
and ''she's a sexer'' oh my god AHAHAHAH Tom's adorable smile and laugh get me everytime
He is very nerdy and I like it.
and he doesn't show any annoyance..*~* such a gentleman..:'D
No your opinion is 100% correct. Just like titanic, sure it was a good movie (Avatar) but many movies that came out that year were far better! The Hurt Locker was much much better
I feel so sorry for Tom here. He's clearly annoyed by the harsh oversimplification of the movie, but he keeps getting cut off, and refuses to do the same. He's trying to be polite, and you know what, I commend him for that.
Well, Tom luckily doesn't need any blue paint or pointy ears to be hot as fuck at all!
Chris was probably the reason why loki invaded earth
OMG YOU ADORABLE LITTLE SNOWFLAKE
Two of my favourite people, yay!!!
Such a good looking, intelligent and talented man. I pray to god that I find a guy like him one day.
OH its a fun video. Get to see my favorite actor and at the same time enjoying an interesting conversation.
Yeah, same, I loved him in the IT Crowd. I hope he's okay.
Chris, stop asking questions and then talking over Tom's answers. Unlike you, he actually has intelligent things to say. Tom, you are a wonderful human being for pointing out Zoe Saldana's talent and ownership of her role instead of only focusing on her sexiness.
100indecisions You have zero sense of humor. Tom is a pretentious twat.
So funny how this dude is all trying to simplify avatar and the inner Shakespearean dissection of movies comes out through Tom naturally
The blue guys. Judging by what they're talking about.
But dang! It would be so awesome if Tom Hiddleston was talking about the cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender and saying that he loved it!!!
he's so cute i want to cry
I didn't think I could love Tom more, and here we are...

They mean that Tom always makes eye contact with the person/s he's talking too. It's respectful to look in someone's eyes while talking to them :)
It's Chris O'Dowd!!! He's awesome too
Oh 0:47 that little grin of his....
I agree! :) It's funny to me how the same people who say it's the worst movie ever made or that it's plot/story/narrative had no meaning or was too cliche, were most likely the same people who have made it one of the biggest billion dollar grossing films of all time...just sayin'...;)
Like them both.
Tom is too gracious and and lovely to think this but truly his inner dialogue during this conversation should have been “I’m a god you dull creature”
Chris O’Dowd was just obnoxious and rude.
OHMIGAWD TOM HIDDLESTON IS SO DAMN HOT.
Also, Chris O'Dowd must be forgiven, here in Ireland talking over someone else is considered commonplace.
He's so polite! (The Hiddles of course ;) )
Zoe Saldana plays Gamora on Guardians
Oh, yeah, I wasn't arguing, just discussing : )
And I agree there's no such thing as an entirey new storyline.
Chris is a funny dude but jeezzz let Tom speak !!
I actually liked Avatar on all points (the visuals AND the story.) Part of me thinks that maybe people just expected the story to be weak because it was such a big visual effects film, and usually when you have films like that, no effort is put in to the plot. o dowd saying "so cyoot, so prettaaaay" is cracking me up
I think these two should do a film togethere.
