I just got that after buying a magazine called Supergamepower that explained everything. Even though I couldn't understand a single thing about the game's story, it was so much fun!!! :D

You will not believe how much time i spent with Driver. One of the best games ever.
Back then i couldnt bring my parents to my me other games so i was "stuck" with a few. And i played Driver every day. There was a time in my life, where i woke up everday, drove the same course and then i would start my daily life.

Kinda what I did with GTA SA during the summer lol. Woke up drove around for awhile got into a shootout with the Ballers and then the Cops and then I'd go outside.
These were the first driving games i ever played when i was 4 and those footsteps still bring memories!
Driver 1 is my second PC game, GTA 1 is my first.

My childhood was based in Driver 2! Me and my father spent years playing. For sure Driver 2 is in my top3 games of all time ❤️

I remember "world's scariest police chases"... One of the hardest missions I remember, and it's been a lot of years since I have played it, was chasing the damn tank...
Colin McRae 2 was fantastic..you could do whole game without using the brakes 🖒loadsa fun

I remember playing driver 2 in “freeroam” I’d spend ages driving around Havana looking for hidden cars lol

What about yellow secret car from Chicago, placed in baseball arena? You need to buy ticket first, to open secret area, then go to parking lot, to get a car.

I discovered that completly by accident, and I didnt even know there was a Rio Map (which is my city), I loved it because of the representation of thr beaches
In the Havana level you can walk backwards down the lift shaft for the special car. But I think that's in the third Driver.

Driver was ahead of it's time. One of my favorite things to do wasn't mentioned, direct your own replay! You could change the camera angles, add stationary cameras wherever, add chase cameras ect. It was frickin awesome!
Oh yeah, does any die hard fans remember all the glitches in the first one? If a car flipped on its side, and you slowly drive up to the roof at an angle, you would fly straight up a few thousand feet! If you did the same to the under side of the car, the car on its side would fly up! Made for some hilarious replays!
i remember that too, ive also had one of those station wagons (civilian car) chase me on driver San Francisco as if it was a police car, was pretty strange at the time and only happened once
Driver 2 still stands as my personal favourite of the series.
buick GSX with yellow and black stripes became my favorite car because of driver 2 (it was the chicago secret car, in the baseball stadium)
I've always loved that driver intro. And I know it's just a cinematic but it looked so real to me back then. Even holds up really well now
Who remembers the Havana mission where you have to steal like 3 vw buses under a minute ???
OMG Driver ! The game that not let you begin if you dont finish the tutorial... And yeah GTA 3 came 1 year after Driver 2.
OH BOY DO I REMEMBER HOW HARD THSE GAMES WERE AS A KID! And I was even a pretty decent driver at that age.
And man those intros. Even kid me knew how good those animations were! I love these games, always did and always will.
Edit: My favorite was DRIV3R. Something about that game just had me hooked for days on end.

I remember playing Driver 2 when I was about 9-10 years old. My dad pulled out his old Playstation, and a bunch of games he used to play. I would play it almost everyday, even though I had no memory cards. I would just free roam around Chicago and Havana and unlock the secret cars. Ah, good times.
For such an old game the control of the car was fukin amazing
Ahh memories.. spent so much time on driver 2 with my neighbors.. we finally pass rio level after 6months.. so ridiculously hard lol.. tears 😅😅😅😅 miss those good olds days..

Still got 'em both, along with Driver 3 and San Francisco.
The pic of my TH-cam channel is even a beta screenshot of the first game. These games are good, despite the lack of variety and the unrealistic portrait of the cars they featured. The songs are an absolute jam. I even have the samples to compose my own songs with. For the first game, yes, the PC version was a bit of a disappointment in porting everything to another console, but thank goodness, this version also allowed you to switch cars, after completing Undercover Mode. Also, it's easy to mod. Even playing with different weather conditions is easy to do. A little modification to the script files and you're done.
These games are still pretty well known. Heck, people still go back to them and have a fun time, with or without gameshark codes and emulators.
I remember when I played around with all kind of gameshark codes and stuff, my favorite was Unlimited Mass. I still mess around with different codes on my PSP.
It's insane I played this game before I even went to preschool! I had older bros who conned it all off to me when they got the big ps2s and I'm 22 now. It's just insane to see one of your roots. I play games very much to this day. And I just cant Express how much it blows my mind.
They remade that tutorial mission in the last release, Driver San Francisco. Was an epic throwback...

I love this game. At that time, it was the GTA of the games (even that GTA was in his 3rd edition)
Driver 2 was my very first video game that I got play, my father and I would have about 3+ cops chase us and have them go jumping over us from jumps. It keep us entertained for hours. Thanks for the great reminder.
These games were my childhood and I still love em to death. I did like Driv3r, but the first two games are forever a favorite in my eyes.

PS: You forget the other secrets cars: Chicago > Yellow race car at basball stadium, Las Vegas > Pick up car near airport and Rio > Truck at the fishing dock.

I remember my parents getting me this for one of my birthdays as a kid and I snuck into their wardrobe and took it out like 2 weeks before my birthday, I carefully unwrapped the basic plastic packaging and put it in my ps1 and didn't realise how hard this tutorial was😫 I thought it was a punishment from God, bad karma if you will for taking it out behind my parents back. Took me about 7002 attempts but I got past it and fell in love with the driver franchise😍
Memories!!! I remember getting that as a kid as a rental at blockbuster back in the late 90s.
How much nostalgia this brings me, it was the first driving game I ever played and I enjoyed it to the fullest with my friend of infacia! Greetings from Argentina!
OMG I HAVE THESE 2 GAMES FOR PS1 OMG nostalgia...... because before 2016 I played only on PS1 and PS2, in 2017 I had my PS3 and in 2018 finally my ps4

Aw man, you sure brought me back some sweet memories. Now that I think about it, Driver 1 may have been the first game I've ever played. It was on my cousin's PC, since I didn't even have one of my own until years later. I think I was around 8-9 years old at the time I played it. I definitely don't remember it looking so bad, but then again, nothing did, not even 240p back more than 10 years ago. How time passes and perception changes as technology evolves!
I still remember that in Drivers 2 you could make an HUGE jump in a night map, like jumping from a park into the highway that was down if i remember well..that was so fun :D

Driver 1 also had 1 small city = New Castle in UK. I played this game when it got out and was hooked to driving games ever since :D

I've played with the PS1 and 2 and with the Game Boy Advance these games.
The garage part on the first game took me ages to complete, not many games implement a feature like that nowadays
naaah... it wasn't that hard. :P
The hardest mission was the last one with the Mr. President: that was harder than Dark Souls. XD

I love playing driver 2 as a kid, and always watch free roam video after i broke my car xD, and always make Tanner sit down and get out from car in theater mode xD.

Driver is, in my opinion one of the greatest video games ever! It has a great feel, tunes that really match the police pursuits well, and 4 different cities to take a ride in. They where small of course. But they never seemed to small. Driver 2 was the first ever video game I touched. I still play these games, and the newer ones still to this day. I'm a Reflections fan. I was playing Driver and Driver 2 on the old PS2 for so long, until recently I found out about an epsxe app that allows Android devices to play PS1 games. It's like magic! It's so cool! My channel is mostly dedicated to the Driver series. Great video man, I enjoy seeing people make videos of a true classic.
In Driver 1 Miami, you could hit the waterfront barriers and sometimes the car would go through, you could then drive through the water around the whole map. Loved doing that as kid hahaha
Driver was one of the coolest driving games back in the day.
The AI in the first driver was so bad lol. I used to drive around just sending cops into spins for the fun of it and then making them crash lol

Had both Driver and GTA growing up. Happy to say GTA took over 95% of the time.
I didn't ever play "Driver", and when i see this video i recognize something, the tutorial of "Driver" I'm pretty sure was the hardest side mission at "Driver : San Francisco". So This why the mission called "blast from the past"
I had the demo disk for Driver! I got it at Babbages. It had a time limit of 3 minutes or so, but you could play it repeatedly. It was so good
everytime I walk in a parkingn lot I remember this iconic intro -and feel so cool about it- . My childhood, never forget.
Survival in San Francisco was absolutely freighting, especially with 7 cop cars flying at you down a hill. I mean FLYING!!!
Hahaha, well done Viper, brings back a LOT of memories... how i longed for driver 2 when i heard it as out... never did play it. That secret car-thing is an awsome touch, thank you for featuring it in the video, i had to laugh. Yeah, GTA definately took the great idea's and ran with it, making it a great succes, and looking back occasionally to Tanner.
Great series, I played a lot these two games in my childhood, but my favorite will be The Italian Job forever 🙌 Both games have their movies, and the Driver tutorial comes directly from the movie, but you don't have to break your car 😂
Driver 2 was the first 3D sandbox in the industry, that's why is a great secuel.

As a kid, I spent thousands of hours on the first three Driver games. Even though the second one wasn't that great, and the third one was pretty awful and rushed by the developers, I still enjoyed just driving around aimlessly.
That driver 1 tutorial... gave me the chills back then, i struggled time and time again. Until some time in the early 2000 when i figured out every part (i forced myself to do it) and finally passed the tutorial; the rest is history...
This Tutorial was so hard, because nobody knows how to do that shit when the game was new! xD So some friends and i had to wait for the next gaming magazine with a description how to do that.
I'm not sure anymore 'cause it's a really long time ago. But i think i failed the slalom every time because i didnt drived the last corner threw the post right...
I invested my whole pocket money to buy this game and this turorial drived me insane. xD

I used to basically live in this game, I'm sure it drove my parents crazy. And then I got a Game Shark and this game got so much better because it became a sand box to play with cars in lol

i loved driver one and two.
i was never happy with the way any of the gta cars handled until gta 5, because i had spent so much time playing driver.
i really got a kick out of how both driver and gta would take shots at each other in the games.
my favorite was driver 3, with the tommy vercetti look alike wearing swimmies.

I loved the look of the taillights and streetlights on the wet pavement...don't know why. I wished there were a way to set the weather, but only a couple of missions had rain.

When the game (Driver 1) was released, I was really young and I've never passed the test mission. Nowadays I can do it lol. On Driver San Francisco there is a secret mission that you must do the test mission again. Really good and hard game, I love it.
