    Update: According to Niwak, who created this setup, you only need to measure your visual screen area and enter that value into the height and width settings in the VPX video settings panel. If you know those are correct and exact, there's no need to confirm anything with the calibration table. If anyone else has the Asus 43" display, here are the exact viewing area dimensions direct from Asus: Display Viewing Area (HxV) : 94.12cm x 52.94cm

    Awesome, thanks, I've always struggled to work out all the POV settings. Will try this for sure.

    Note: When you open the Calibration table using F6, first set it to "Window" mode if its not already in that mode. Also, if the table is rotated, hit the ENTER key or Plunger button until it auto rotates to match your screen orientation. Once that's done, continue with the video instructions and set your table scale to 100% on X and YZ as I do in the video.

    hi, is there a possibility to set global default settings for all tables in vpx 10.8. I have over 1000 tables, it will take a lot of time to edit them one by one. 😊

      Your welcome. Its just something I threw together on the fly. Once the dust settles a bit on this I'll post an update with any changes, there will be plenty if the past is indicative. All for the better.

    When I set my scale to 100% its too zoomed in. I need to be at around 78% for the edges to be at the edge of my screen. Is there something else wrong which would cause that?

    The new POV settings are great on their own. The new anaglyphic 3d glasses mode in 10.8GL is a game changer. Playing with 3D glasses is already becoming a default for me. Thanks for the walk-through @eighties8! I'm now a believer. ; )

    I set scale to 100% and the vertical ruler does not reach the full size of the screen. Resolution is set correctly. NVM i had to plug in preliminary measurments first!

    How can i save the pov options that i made for a table ? When i quit the game, save it, make a pov and restart the game it will look like before 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Thank you for this! So I have the latest beta and I make changes to the table and it changes it globally? How does the saves work under video/graphics ( table overrides? Save all?? ? I get the size put into the options but they never match up, even when I change manually it does not affect the table? They really need to put some more instructions on all the new settings and how they work and what all the saves do and how to use because right now this is confusing and my tables I have set up have all gone wonky. Can you do a complete one table setup for the new options? Thanks again!

      Its fine to use it. But its subject to change. This is bleeding edge beta stuff. Tinkerers welcome.

    Thanks for this video, but i didnt understand anything between the calibration you did and what is configured on the video options. Was is autorecorded on vpx ? What s the iPhone relation with this ?

    • @danw3735
      @danw3735 ปีที่แล้ว

      The iphone has a built in angle reader, I'm sure android has an app as well, it's just for measuring the angle of your cabinet.

    where did you get the calibration table?

    • @eighties8
      @eighties8  ปีที่แล้ว

      Its automatically included with VPX 10.8 nightly builds (look inside the "Tables" folder in the download). To access nightly builds, you need to be logged into github, then go here > github.com/vpinball/vpinball/actions/workflows/vpinball.yml

    • @xDoolyx
      @xDoolyx ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks. i never copied over the tables folder when i installed the new VPX lol....

    • @eighties8
      @eighties8  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xDoolyxYea, it just does a merge, it doesn't remove any existing tables, just adds new ones.

    • @xDoolyx
      @xDoolyx ปีที่แล้ว

      One more question. When I start this process and open camera view I get a message saying "you are using window mode but haven't defined your display physical size" and the vertical ruler does not reach the top of my screen.

    • @eighties8
      @eighties8  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xDoolyx I think it may say that the first time you load it up before you get the coordinates input. Go ahead and adjust to 100% as in the video, and follow through to get your display size based on the rulers.

  • @Layby2k
    @Layby2k ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video mate. Do you know when this nightly build will become an official beta release? 10.8 beta 6 maybe?

    • @eighties8
      @eighties8  ปีที่แล้ว

      There isn't a timetable that I'm aware of. I expect it will be released once their milestones are complete. The major milestones that I'm aware of is are (1) new POV system for more lifelike tables for cabinet mode (2) a complete rewrite of the 3D stereo rendering engine (3) Headtracking in 3D stereo mode

    i have a 2560x1440 screen and can only set it to 55% and it fills up the screen. Scaling on the screen is set to 100%. I think the 100% scale might only be for 4k displays. UPDATE: my width and height numbers were swapped. changed them and could set display to 100%.

      You may have your width and height reversed. I was around 60% until I realized that I'd told vpx that my width was around 53cm and height was around 91cm, when really it's the opposite if you're looking at it from a landscape perspective.
