This was so helpful, thanks for making this demo available. I now have a whole different method of trying my hand at the marshes. You are so incredibly talented in art and as a teacher.
So glad you are back..The color recipe idea is a great idea..thank you..I always learn from your videos..thank you to both of you for doing these videos
Thank you Karen. I really enjoy your teaching style and I get such valuable information. Co- incidentally I just finished a pastel in this same scheme before watching your tutorial.
Thanks Karen ------another very informative tutorial. I'm guessing that you could use a coloured paper as part of the colour scheme also? Always look forward to your tutorials so once again thank you for your time and effort. (Your hubby too).
EXCELLENT TUTORIAL AS USUAL. I LOVED THE WAY YOU SAID JUST FLIP THE SKY OVER. I AM VERY HEAVY HANDED AND KEEP OVER DOING EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME. I START OF LIGHTER AND BEFORE I KNOW IT I AM NEARLY PRESSING THROUGH THE PAPER. IS THERE ANY THING ELSE THAT WOULD HEIP BESIDES FEATHER TOUCH? THANKS, LYNDA
Thanks for your informative videos! I watch using a headset primarily, and the sound of the camera operator bumping around and breathing is actually painfully loud. Maybe invest in a tripod?
Thanks for watching. We are using a tripod. I'll tell him to watch the breathing and stop moving around. I know these videos are rough but they were Facebook live broadcasts that aren't meant to be saved. I've just had many requests for them. So I know they could be done more professionally. If only I had more time!!
First, great video. I could see you were using a tripod when it showed in the mirror. Are you using a separate mic around your neck? It sounded like you were being picked up only on the camera mic because when you looked away from the camera the sound dropped off. I just turned the sound up, because you really do give great advice. Thanks for posting.
Karen Margulis The videos don’t have to be ‘perfect’ Karen. We are just very glad you take the time and trouble to share them. We learn a lot and are very happy with what you both do.
Great video, to bad the guy cant use a camera. The video is unsharp and much back ground noise. Sounds like he is touching the microphone all the time.
I learned a lot from this one. Clear instruction with good explanation. You're a good teacher. Thanks to both you and your husband! ~Katie
Thanks Karen for your explanations and générosity!
You're the Best! Thanks for being such a clear and generous teacher!

Always look for your video....such an inspiration and very educational.
Thanks very much. I'm going to try this approach in both pastel and watercolor. Excellent instruction. (Hi, Jenny!)
How interesting...I would love to try this now that you have explained ir so clearly!

Really nice! The sound is a little low and fuzzy in the beginning.
Great tutorial. What brands of pastels do you use?
Thanks for watching! I use a variety but mostly Terry Ludwig pastels.
it sounds fine on my end
Love your videos. Any chance you can go back and block out background noise? Had to turn the sound off. You both do great work!

Do you use aa fixative when you are done with. A panting
Jeramie I Vy no I don’t use a final fixative as it can darken and change colors. I protect the painting under glassine paper until it can be framed.
As well as pipe insulation, I use a piece of pool noodle ... same material and much cheaper.

That looks difficult!
Sound not good on this video, camera man moving?
