I love the M 8239, as well! I bought it to make a Wednesday Adams, but of course went a different route… so hopefully I find another fabric for it after the new year. Cheers for those lovely pattern choices.
Hi! very nice choice of patterns. can't wait to see them made. i have a few of them myself. right now i'm making McCalls 8239, view B(cause i did not have enough fabric for long sleeves), i put the zipper on the back, for the bottom i use a simplicity skirt instead ( S9123) and i'm adding pockets :) i hope it will turn out nice with all the changes i'm making :)
Hello Sian. I love the patterns that you bought and in fact one of the patterns Vogue 8814 is a pattern that I had bought for you and was going to send in your banana and leaves fabric that I got for you from Spotlight (we were waiting for you post office box address) but you have it now so that is good.... I received a discount voucher from the infamous Spotlight that entitles me to 4 patterns (yes, including Vogue) for $10, so I can't wait to get to Spotlight to see what patterns that they have that are 'new' in. You influenced me to buy a pattern too, the Beach Pyjamas patterns from 'When the Sun Goes Down' I will make myself a pair for the summer (any fabric suggestions are welcomed) Love to Chiana and Susie xxxx
They are all gorgeous but my fingers would itch the most for the butterick coat and dress pattern. It's elegant and coats are always a fun challenge.. 😉
Absolutely the Vogue shirt. Just love your style and the pirate capsule collection is sew beautiful (as are all the styles you choose). I'm too old and frumpy but very awesome to watch you
Ooo, I love the last pattern - very Wednesday Addams. 😍😍 And you could split the collar at the centre back, so it's made in two pieces, then do a centre back zip. Lynne 😃😃
Hi: I love all of them, but I especially love the first one-which I also own-I think you would rock that! I was thinking about making it in white, and if I loved it, also making it in navy and also another in orange! Great choices!! Cannot wait to see your version! Have a lovely evening. :+)
Wow! You’re lucky; I’m in the US and still haven’t received my McCall’s Black Friday order. I hope someday I feel confident enough to sew Vogue patterns.
Try a Vogue pattern that Sian has done a sew-a-long for. I find Vogue not that different from other patterns and do often like the styles. So just go for it, if you want to do it. 💕
Those are some great patterns that you picked. Those sales at their website have been pretty good and I’ve stocked myself on some out of print patterns. Can’t pass up on those!
hi ,ive just made the v1845 using the finished garment measurements and it came up huge, so i down sized to the smallest size and it was still a good 6 inch to big around the waist and i had to take a small amount in on every pleat ! but now its done i do love it , i also made it into a dress not a shirt , i am in love with it and will be making more xx
My favorite is the Butterick 6868 coat. I'm pear shaped and think I could get that to fit me. So many cute looks to try. Thank you for showing! I have many old patterns as I have been sewing for a long time and many of them are in fashion again with some small tweaks. I recently got an apron pattern and was surprised by the "weak" instructions. I felt that if I didn't have all my experience, I'd have been very confused. (Especially poor was the explanation of a partially inset pocket into a front seam. It didn't clearly say you had to hem three sides of the pocket first, like an applicate.)
Great haul!!!! Wish I had known about it. I am thinking of making v9053 for new years eve. The m8196 would look great with every panel a different floral print ie like Dolce and Gabana xxx
Nice selection! I have the empire Butterick dress and the Vogue shirt, so interested how they turn out on you. Liked the shaping through the waist of the dress. It just hasn’t made it to the top of my list yet. The shirt has been at the very top for this whole year. Have fabric for it. Just hesitating because of all the fitting I need to do. Should bite the bullet. Once fitted it could become such a versatile pattern for all seasons. 😽💕
I also follow some 'historical'/history bounding vlogers and believe the pattern is for stays not corsets. They seem to get quite annoyed if you get the terminology wrong.
@@KittenishBehaviourSian I follow Cathy Hay and she has had to abandon a project she's been working on and off on for 10 years because of negative comments in the Historical dress community, really off putting.
Hi Siân!! Great haul of patterns.. I liked a few particular ones…
💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵
I absolutely love reading through parents. I also bought that 1st vote pattern for the top.

The last one really speaks to my 90's goth phase lol.

I really like the B6705 and M8239, but I'm interested in seeing you do the shirts, I'm not quite brave enough to tackle one myself yet 🧙♀️💚
I like Butterick 6705. A floral would pretty like they have in the picture.

Ohhh I fell in love with V1845 when it came out. It's coming up soon my sewing list. Waiting on my fabric.
So exciting, thanks for your tips about this last time, I ordered 23 patterns from Something Delightful and it was exactly that!
Oooh the Vogue pleated shirt is stunning & will look fantastic on you, I love that one ❤
Well, I appear to have missed some of those when I ordered mine! ……goes off to make another list for next time……

You can do it!! Also, you should join the peeps group. We’re all very supportive and will cheer you on the whole time.

Re the first patter, it will be very easy to make a cross back bra once you start making your own.
Oooh! Do the white shirt with all the pleats first and the leggings to go with it. So cute!
The white shirt is amazing definitely pirate collection so needs to be made 💝

Vogue 1845. After watching you make Vogue 9076, I wonder if the inside of this blouse will also be left with some frustratingly unfinished seams.
I said I was not buying any more patterns for a while 👀. But here I am adding so more to my shopping list 😂

I love the style of that last dress. I can never decide if something like it would suit me. 🤔❤
I made the M8089 in the fall. I love it but it does show a lot of leg!
I love the Vogue 1845 blouse. I'm definitely going to try that one.

I made the leggings, I love them.
I love all the ones you've picked here, have some and most of the rest are on my list. Very nice haul!!

I’ve made 46669 a million years ago fidley but I like it
Nice haul.
Lovely choices!

Invisible zippers in the sleeves?! I want to see that.
you could use some of your bra findings and only do the front for the blouse.
I legit thought those were coats on the Vogue 9370 🤦🏼♀️
Oh my how I love a pattern haul🏳️🌈👍👌🏾🦹🏾♂️🧕🏿😍

I knew someone was going to call me out ion that 🤣 when I was editing I was like “STAYS dummy “ 🤣🤣🤣🤣
