Great episode! Cinnamon teal are definitely a bucket list bird for most duck hunters. I’ve had the privilege to take them in California and South America. Even shot one once in Missouri! I guess his mate sent him out for a gallon of milk and he got lost. 😂 Ryan, you are an excellent host, and I totally agree on your take regarding the Northern shoveler. Beautiful bird, and great table fare, too. Keep up the good work guys!
Totally dig what you’re doing with “Road to 100”! Thanks for actually taking time to show closeup’s of the species you’re hunting, and talking fun facts about the birds. They are the star’s of the show! Keep up the good work. Stay safe out there!
I have never duck hunted but seeing the shotgun shells flying, feathers spraying, and birds dropping sure looks like a hoot. Crappie ponds are always a good time lol. What an epic quest and great footage!
Had the privilege to share a duck blind with Ryan many years ago and was amazed of his eye for photo journalism and creativity and its easy to see the path and passion Ryan has pursued since those early days! I hope to cross paths with him again one day in the near future….Sea ducks episode or high volume snow goose, chase the migration from Canada to Mexico or points beyond???
Hey thanks for watching and dropping in! Appreciate all the kind words. I greatly appreciate that. Thank goodness Chiam is a partner in this project. All the film work and editing is 100% him on this project. He’s an incredible talent 🙌
Hands down my favorite trip of the year glad you guys got to experience it together. Awesome video! Very well filmed and put together keep up the work!!
Can’t wait to join y’all in Mexico for Season 2!!! Totally different style Mexico hunt and new species! And you out shooting us and helping us get great content 💪💪💪💪
Once again y’all put out a nother insanely awesome video 🔥. My favorite out of the trio has got to be the green wing only cause well that’s the only teal I’ve got to shoot so far. But I’ve always wanted to get a fully plumed out blue wing cause I think they are such cool looking little birds, they all are very cool and unique little waterfowl I’d like to have a pair of all 3 on my wall some day.
Not that it matters in the big scheme of things, but isn't the cinnamon teal's genus name SPATULA not ANAS? Also, a full plume Blue Wing is my favorite.
They don’t produce steel shot that is readily available in there country so there isn’t another option. It’s not negatively impacting the areas being hunted. So yeah, it’s fine.
Il keep saying it get to new Zealand opening day 20 days away come get Ur paradise ducks black swan NZ spoon bills pukeko's and some fat green heads man .Get in while it's good !!
“Perfectly legal” doesn’t change the fact that it’s still absolutely disgusting and unethical. Love your videos, but lead is so bad that our refuge drained and plowed some of their waterfowl places two years ago and the lead that was there in the bottom from sixty years ago killed hundreds and hundreds of ducks, geese, and swans. Totally agree about the shoveler, it actually is a teal m(unlike green wings 😂)and is amazing to eat.
Going to safely assume you don’t know what you don’t know. Not disagreeing on large amounts of lead being bad when introduced to wetlands. But these 2nd and 3rd world countries don’t produce non-toxic options, they aren’t 1st world. And in most cases we can’t import ammo from the US. Secondly, some of those places we hunted might get hunted 1-2 times a year, it’s not enough lead to do any negative damage. They’ve been operating 40 years and never seen any negative side effects. Never saw any from our family places that’s been hunted over 100 years either. Not saying it’s ok, but it shouldn’t be blown out of proportion unnecessarily. Only shovelers I have ever seen I refused to eat were literally loafing on a poop tank, so nasty 🤮. But yeah, no trash ducks. Not a thing.
@@TheRoadto100 I get that it’s not your fault. I just personally couldn’t bring myself to go on a hunt that doesn’t have nontoxic. “Not enough to do any negative damage” is blatantly false, it’s not enough to affect the population, sure, but those thousands that died in my town weren’t enough to affect the population either….each piece of lead is still a bird suffering an agonizing death unnecessarily. Yeah, I’d suspect any bird that’s on a $hit pond is gonna taste bad 😂😂
I simple google dive into the ammo suppliers in Mexico will show steel shot is readily available….it’s more a matter of the fact that it’s legal to use lead and lead costs half as much, hence the guide makes more money, especially considering the liberal limits and large amounts of ammo people go through 🤷🏻♂️
Awesome, ready for season 2
Thanks!
Cinnamons are my target this fall 😊
They are awesome for sure! Best of luck to you
@@TheRoadto100 thanks guys! What’s your favorite duck species to hunt?

Sounds like we need to change that my friend! Not saying that it will make ya give up elk hunting but it sure is a blast. Pun intended.
I love cinnamons, but I have to say my favorite is GWT. Those little speedsters will always hold a piece of my heart.

Only killed green wing but my dream species is a cinnamon teal
Well worth the journey to get one in your hands!
Not that it matters in the big scheme of things, but isn't the cinnamon teal's genus name SPATULA not ANAS? Also, a full plume Blue Wing is my favorite.
ANAS is the genus of dabbling duck which cinnamons fall into. Spatula is the sub-genus technically. Unfortunately we had to do this in a rush!
Can you link the guide please
Absolutely, we included the website info in the description 👍 If you have any issues finding it just message us and let us know. Thanks for watching!
