I live in VN and what I don't understand is why you didn't just dump the POS, take a bus to the border (your friends could ship theirs by bus for not a lot of money), and buy another bike in Lao. Sure, the video would've been weak, but pick your battles. Re crossing the border with the bikes, you need the blue card and it's best if in your name. The locals are most likely commuting, but in any case, maybe if you did your research, you'd've saved a lot of hassle.
We live in northern Thailand, and our son's friend came out to visit as part of a budget world trip. He mentioned you were an inspiration to him - will be good to see you back on here again!
I think the reason why you cannot get your bike through is because they're not allow any bike that's less than 250cc to pass, and the only way that you can get your bike pass is with through an insurance company, at least that's how it done in Lao-Thai border, I dunno if this trick will work in Vietnam-Lao border or not but at least it was something that you can try
Anyone thinking of going to Vietnam to have a motorbike adventure, do it! It is such an amazing experience!! BUT, do not buy a Honda Win!!! As you can see from this video, they are literally the worst motorbikes in the world. You will spend half your days stuck on the side of the road, or waiting at mechanics, rather than riding, and enjoying your holiday. Yes, this channel is called True Budget Travelling, and the Win is the cheapest bike on the Vietnamese market (for a reason!), but for not much more, you can rent a proper bike or scooter, like a Honda Blade, or XR150. The money you might save buying a cheap abused Win from another backpacker will soon be eaten up with repair bills and oil top ups.
Wow this brings back some memories mate hahhahaha, O crossed into Laos aswell but fortunately we didn't have any issues when I tried that mission feeeeewww
I saw the level you are presenting. It is beautiful. If you want to come to Morocco, I am from Morocco. You will be welcome to show me around Morocco. I think there is a lot to explore in Morocco. Greetings.
Yes happy I am not doing that shit again ... maybe because i have done so many times before ..yeah .... good to see there is more produce in markets than here in Brexit imperialist England..good luck to you enjoy , what's for food ...NOT EFFING RICE AGAIN ..... I do not wonder why the vietnamese put the finger up .... er.... history, and what is going on now , they are not stupid ...bon chance et LAOS trebien .....
Lol the dreaded Vietnam Detech Motorbikes! Everybody I met with one had constant problems 😂Should have just got a rental Suzuki GD 110cc from Style Motorbikes for $250 for the month. Great video man, nice to see you uploading again! Makes me miss Vietnam

I appreciate the approach you have for Indochina. That region is still recuperating with war.
Nice to see you back on the road
Note to self: Don’t ride a Chinese copy of a Honda Win.
Damn man, that was Awesome. Sad about the cliff hangar, but looking forward to see how it all comes to on the next episode of your journey.
Sucks man sorry was a stressful one! Maybe could have found a local to drive the bikes across? Nice ideas with the trucks and staff rotations
Sabaidee 🎉 so happy you guys are back.
