From the mid-nineties up until the early noughties, the XTC brand was a main player in the tougher edged trance market. Extreme Trax was the perfect fit for this sound and Final Fantasy personified this immensely. An industrial sounding track with a powerful trance groove and moving melodies. The original 12" came with I'm Gonna Get You and Big Sleep on the reverse side.

Die habe ich miterlebt und auch in Berlin war ich zu Loveparade mehrfach. Nur ganz ehrlich hat elektronische Musik schon viel früher angefangen ! Ich darf hier gerne legendäre Musik erwähnen...wie z.B. Kraftwerk (Autobahn) 1974 oder gar Jean-Michel-Jarre (Oxygene) 1976 . Heute noch Evergreens ! Natürlich haben auch die Beatles schon erste elektronische Klangerzeuger eingesetzt.

Extreme Trax is a project that consists of several producers from the Belgian dance music label Bonzai Music. Artists that have contributed to this project include Yves Deruyter, Mike Dierickx (M.I.K.E. / Push), Laurent Véronnez (Airwave), Philippe Toutlemonde (Phi-Phi) and Philippe Van Mullem (Quadran)
The name Extreme Trax is a reference to Belgian nightclub Extreme, similiar to how CherryMoon Trax (another Bonzai project) refered to club Cherry Moon.

This is just pure trance at its finest. I've listened to so many genres of electronic music, and trance is just the one that hits home the most with me. It's more a spiritual experience, just simply music for the mind.

Final Fantasy. Awesome name, and it comes from one of the greatest game franchises of all time (one of my fave game franchises ever) and surely this track title is a nod and tribute to the legendary series. Final Fantasy`s legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu would be so proud and honoured. Big ups to Charlotte De Witte to playing this track to the new generation of ravers and music listeners alike.

At the end of the day Charlotte is giving the younger generation a glimpse into our past and how good the music was. Fair play to her. It wouldn't be fair on them to not hear this type of music.

And many of the times they remixed it now it didnt came close. But the point is the sound is totally different. You must see now you have much more options to say it simple. Dirk de Pree Born in 99 first ever EDM song I heard was Laut Spretcher - Omnibus in 2002 on my tías stereo back when vhs, crt tvs, and CDs still existed and have been listening to this music since before TH-cam and the first smart phone in 2005 and 2007 respectively were created created and watched it go from underground to mainstream. Currently Hardstyle is my favorite but I’ve listened to and love about every genre and subgenre of EDM so apart from the warhouse raids in the 90s I don’t think I missed much😁 We didn’t just magically appear put of nowhere into the modern era we have a timeline of our own you know😉

It is a useless umbrella term for the mass-produced derivative rubbish that is churned out today at an inexorable rate, and to conflate these legendary tracks with the more commercial sound of today is akin to sacrilege.
There is plenty of excellent music produced today, but I can bet you the producers would balk at the term 'EDM' being used to describe it.
