animediff requires more resources to Run, without controlnet, its output can be chaotic sometimes, with Controlnets, it needs more than 8GB VRAM to run effectively especially with higher image size than 512x512, then it introduces more uniformity to the background and more creativitiy to the scene which is really good... thus it has its own use cases.... img2img methods with controlnets, can run easily even with 3 controlnets and higher image sizes even on 8GB VRAM, and can be used for longer movie scenes effectively.
