Think about it, imagine staring at your friend's eyes more than five seconds or compliment them then thousands of people start saying that you might be secretely dating ; it's the reality of the real life of actors, especially BL actors, the hype is even bigger. I don't think Sam and Yu are uncomfortable with each other, if they weren't close at all I don't think We Best Love would have been such a good show, they have a very great chemistry and I bet they're good friends behind the scenes, it's noticeable even in this show. If you pay attention to them, they often stand next to each other or sit next to each other. Yu is shy, I think he feels awkward speaking chinese when it isn't a script but a natural conversation. He always stays near Sam as if he were the one who could always understand him and the most patient among all, also his closest friend here. So I don't think anyone should worry about their relationship (it's not our business anyways, Gao Shi De and Zhu Yi are not Sam and Yu.), I think the fact that they were filmed as Sam and Yu made them awkward and worried that people would misinterpret how they act together.
this is what a fan of this series should really do...i.e having the maturity to understand the difference between reality and drama...and kudos to you for putting out such understanding comment. They are amzing actors and they justified their roles..but what they do in the personal lives is not our business and we should respect their privacy..and most importantly this shipping culture should stop cz sometimes it ruins even the close friendship..
Well saying, I honestly like how natural and comfortable they seem in this show. We can actually see their "normal behaviours" in their real life. We can also see the mindful understanding on each of their personalities. Which one were hardworkers, and which one were just goofing around 😅 I just a little feel sorry for Sam, when he said he couldn't tasted dish that YU made (because he were too busy take care of other members searching chpsticks). I wish they could be more thoughtful to spare it in the first place. He has made an effort to cook delicious meal for them.

He understand the shipping culture and he himself on live streams interviews after the promotion was already done, have defended the shipping culture. Shipping is unavoidable but many actors who were shipped and didn’t want it have done taken steps to avoid it. Sams personality is strong enough to contest shipping if he is against it. The teasing until now of posts on social media didn’t need to be done but they are doing it on purpose-not only once, twice, thrice ….this makes it hard to quit shipping. Actors can express their feelings about shipping freely after promotion and that will help slow down if not stop the shipping. It’s interesting that both Sam & YU are not expressing it clearly that they don’t like this shipping, Sam said the opposite. So we can only respect others opinion and perspective when it comes to shipping until they clearly express that it’s toxic or they don’t want it.

They're still close , they're not talkative at all , they've said it many time, and i think the prod have cut some part of their interaction ,( at a moment Sam comeback with 2 can of coke but they don't show when he give it to him or when Yu drink it) but only show Sam but some people have post Yu drinking it on twitter, i think SamYu can't act naturaly because its in front of camera , they do interact but they are really secret and discreet , Sam even got chopstick and want to give it to Yu first . They're close but its hard for them to act naturaly in front of camera when they're only together .
