Its rare in the Rock/Pop world to have a band with no ego's, no drama's, no bust ups who just called it quits after getting the job done and still remaining mates.
Great piece of band history, Slade in many ways were overlooked and yet were the most successful band of their time, absolutely untouchable live, great to see this
@@jacquesfinster5034 Both had short-lived American success though. I remember Slade going there in 1976, and returning home deflated after feeling homesick.
Noddy Was Actually Consided By AC/DC To Replace Ben Scott, When Ben Scott Tragically Died But Decided Against It As Noddy Was Already Established Singer !
My teenage years just wouldn't have been the same without them, they were so powerful to watch and listen to,and of course they needed to be played at as loud as your stereo would go......Big thanks to Noddy,Dave,Jimmy and Don,as one of their songs says "THANKS FOR THE MEMORY",and i still play the albums now!!
I'm a Queen fan, but Slade was the most successful UK act chart-wise in the 70s. How Does It Feel? and Everyday were two of the best songs from that decade too. I bought a couple of their albums.
Thank you for putting this up l’m 60 in December been a Slade fan since 1973 when my big brother brought in com on feel the noize been into Slade ever since also the best live band by miles have all the Albums and singles fantastic memories thanks again 😊
I never had the honour/pleasure of meeting any of the other members, but I can say with certainty that Dave Hill is one of the nicest, most generous and lovely people you could ever hope to meet. And that’s to say nothing about his awesome talent. He is a true gentleman, with time for his fans or anyone at all. Long may he continue, he represents the best that British music has to offer. A true original and a gem of a man.
I love see Cleopatra playing guitar in 28.20 minutes. Around 1974, all heavy bands went to Prog Rock. "How does it feel" was the Slade's incursion. Great song.
A brilliant production by the master video maker, Slade In England! This is the kind of video that all fans have wanted released officially on DVD! Such a pity that Dave Kemp never got to see the finished result. ★★★★★
Excellent video to spotlight the highly successful career of Slade but, moreover, to remember Dave Kemp as a true devotee of Slade. The fundraiser in Dave’s memory is a great move and a great cause. RIP Dave Kemp.
50 years after , a stroll around my English residential area on Christmas or News years eve is proof that if everybody is having fun , they’re doing it very quietly….😟
Fabulous!!Now,if any record company types are reading this, could we have the unreleased Slade Alive recordings at some point in the future?Consider this-veteran hard rock band UFO have just released a box-set of their classic live album Strangers In The Night, that was originally a double LP, compiled from 6 concerts. The box-set has all six gigs in their entirety.Could we possibly have a similar Slade release, consisting of all three gigs that were recorded for Slade Alive?Worth considering as a 2022 50th anniversary release, perhaps?
Slade made my days, back then - for several years - in coastal Norway. I had posters all over the place! However - I have heard (and experienced), from many sources, that Dave's appearance and costumes were what made Slade never reach the United States. He was just too - something else. At the age of 60, I can understand why. It's not just the music. It is also the integrity - the behavior - just as simple as the "human being". - - - - - - Jim Lea is one of the greatest - the foremost - composers of the last century. And Noddy Holder wrote some great lyrics; however - it was his vocals, that made him great! Lea and Holder - a team that will live forever. In my mind, they will!!
Love this brilliantly put together I have Been a big fan all my life seen them in 73 in my home town of Stoke on Trent it was the loudest band I have ever heard
Mama we're all crazy now. Slade had bunch of great songs. Cum on feel the noize. Love that voice. A great screaming singing voice. Almost same as voice i hear talking to me in my head. But slade was way better.

Great job David, I have the recording on CD but listening to it with the clips you put on TH-cam is great , you did a job of superb quality, well done. A thought for Dave Kemp, rest in peace my friend.
Noddy bought the top hat from Freddie Mercury's and Roger Taylor's stall in Kensington Market, before attaching the mirrors. (I think it's the same hat Taylor can be seen wearing on the back of Queen's first album). The double platform soles Dave Hill spoke about buying at Kensington Market probably came from Alan Mair. Freddie Mercury sometimes ran his stall for him.
@@greywolf907 The first album "Queen" has loads of photos cut up and arranged by the band for the back sleeve. Taylor is pictured in fancy dress wearing a top hat and bow tie. The album was released in July 1973, so the photo was from 1971 - 72... shortly before Noddy bought it, if it's the same hat.
