    Sir I told that width of base stem can not be assumed. So it leads to huge procedure though it's understandable procedure.
    For exam point of view shall we assume width of base of the stem so that we can find out almost correct width of heel projection also.
    Some text books followed above procedure , can we follow it sir..

    Sir the value of b which u r taking on basis of spacing, but that is also we have to design for, so this assumption as spacing taken as b for Mu-max is not making a clue...

    Sir while calculating the Mu(max) you add 60 mm with 282.12m

      This is to calculate the the whole bottom depth of the cantilever slab (the stem), so 60 mm is the cover that should be added to the effective depth approximately. I think the professor explained everything professionally my friend.

    Shouldn't the unit of Ph be kN/m instead of kN? Also your unit for d should be mm instead of m.

    Best expln reg cantilever retng walls is the basement walls along perimeter designed as cantilever retaining walls
