If you are born in Berchtesgaden, you don't forget how beautiful your home is. It's like being upon a vulcano in bali or in a norwegian Fjord and thinking "really nice, but at home it is at least as beautiful as here." so thankful to live in one of the most magnificent places in germany!

As an european living in europe I'm used to the fact that there is some sort of "different culture" every 100km (even within nations themselves). For an american this must be awesome af and overwhelming.
ulli_ulli yeah u literally travel 2 hours or something and all of a sudden its a new country with new language and different culture. (im also european)

Yes I watched the final of the world cup 2018 and every. single. Croatian was freaking out! We were all so proud to be second and the atmosphere was breathtaking

btw it is not really a fake Colosseum...the Romans did build several in Croatia as well... this one is just one of a few which are nearyl perfectly preserved ;)

If you stop calling it colosseum and call it amphitheater instead, you are right. There only exists one colosseum and it's name derives from a colossal statue standing in front of it the first few hundred years. The colosseum is not *a* colosseum but *the* colosseum. It's not a name for this kind of buildings (that'd be amphitheaters, and there are few of them that remained over the time) but for this particular building.

Great video! I've been on road trips to Croatia three times before and it's always amazing. We usually don't drive through Bavaria because I'm from Saxony, so we go through the Czech Republic. Btw it's Berchtesgaden not Bertchesgaden. I had to smile when you said that :-). German is a terrible language with too many consonant clusters. I'm glad I don't have to learn it as a foreign language!

oh i've been to Croatia 3 years ago and missed out on the Plitvicer Seen... thunderstorms and floddings that year, it was blocked for tourists... what a pity. Have to go there again. Have a stop in Graz and Salzburg on your way back
that "fake colliseum" is called an Amphitheatre... that design was pretty common in Roman times.

I was in Croatia for the first time in 1986. At that time, Yugoslavia. The second time in 1998. Unfortunately I had to say that the first time I liked it much better. There you sat in Rabac at the restaurant on the promenade, at the neighboring table the local fishermen. Locals and tourists were together at the campsites, everyone was relaxed, all people friendly and have fun in holiday mood.
The second time was different. Everything was overcrowded, everyone was paying attention to themselves, everyone just wanted to make money, the locals had withdrawn and the tourists were only seen as dairy cows.
In my opinion, the Croatians sold their hearts for money. Too bad.
I've never been there again.

i am 100% sure the sea at the end with this waterfalls was the movie set for an Winnetou movie (DDR cult movie)
Although I know of some movies about (American) Indians that were made in DDR, the only Winnetou movie i know was a coproduction D/I/YU, filmed in YU and Studios in Berlin-Spandau. As a child i used to read those books and had to hide them while driving through DDR in transit since for many years the author Karl May (who was from "Radebeul, Kingdom of Saxony" :-) was on the index there. but you are completely right that those lakes were part of the scenery in several of the Karl May movies, as well as many other locations in former Yugoslavia which were used by European film makers for dozens if not hundreds of movies that were supposed to be located in the American "Wild West".
When I just looked it up in the IMDB, eg www.imdb.com/search/title?locations=Plitvice
i found many movies, and among them Winnetou and some more Karl May movies, the movie "A Man from the East" with Terence Hill (for NALF: original title was "E poi lo chiamarono il magnifico" :-) and more currently, also some episodes of the series "Emerald City (Die dunkle Welt von Oz)"
