@windmechanic As Bob notes (I can't remember if it's this video or elsewhere), he doesn't operate high-power while mobile and he does warn folks to stay back when he's "foot mobile" with the amp running. As you know, for the most part our hobby is self-policing, and unless someone files a complaint, it's somewhat unlikely that the FCC would actually initiate action themselves.

You're very much correct. It does bother me though about the RF limitations as I've never had any health effects from it, except one heckuva RF burn. I almost got into tower maintenance work years ago and learned those guys wear small chains to test temperature as they climb. I can also imagine Bob's battery pack gets warm if he goes QRO.
As a teen when I got into this hobby, I had much fun tinkering and learning about electronics. That's still in place, more so with antennas.

I'm surprised the FCC doesn't raise all Hades about the RF levels (yes, I'm aware of the exposure rules). It's IMAO stupid in regards to HF and even most UHF freqs, but I understand the 2-m concern. This 32-year ham has worked in numerous broadcast stations, a few with the AM tower just feet from my booth.
The battery technology Bob is using is way beyond cool! As a recent wind energy grad, this is a must-learn as electrical storage is one of the important facets of small-wind turbines. 73s
