I watch the movie in Finnish with German subtitles and not understand most of the dialogues I did not care, I truly enjoyed the movie and I love it.

As a someone from the UK who's been into metal for 40 years now, it takes a lot to make a good metal movie especially a comedy. Very few manage it well, Spinal Tap and Bad News, to name just two classic comedy metal movies that are beloved by those into metal. I thought Heavy Trip was really good, it had a low budget feel which meant the cast and crew had to eek out every ounce of what they had without insulting fans but at the same time also allow outsiders who don't like our music, to still enjoy the silliness. There's a few cringe moments here and there, the chief of Police suddenly changing his mind after being so vehemently against the lead singer even talking to his daughter, that didn't sit well as it was a step too far for comedic effect and desperate attempt to get a happy ending, espeically when you consider how dark some of the moments in the film do get like the original drummer's fate and the new drummer's state of mind were handled relatively sensitively.

You made some pretty excelent points. I'm ashamed to admit it but I never actually realized that European movies (the more well known at least) tend to be more artsy. Maybe my vision was clouded a little bit since I'm a European myself, but still.
Heavy Trip is a pure perfection. i keep recommending it to every single person I know that is into metal, and to some other people as well. And so far, everybody loved it, from my death metal listening friend to my parents. :D

Sometimes but the best French Althouse films are generally just ones that are fun to watch so it depends which art scene or industry etc.

They're not black metal.. They're a symphonic postapocalyptic reindeer-grinding Christ-abusing extreme war pagan Fennoscandian metal band
