📒 I got so excited opening TH-cam and seeing an hour and a half long notebook video! Long videos are my favorite because I need long stretches of time to listen while I work without picking up my phone again to find a new video. Helps my adhd brain get through a work day!
I can't believe how quickly this year is going. I'm hoping I'll at least get done my outline by September and start my first draft. I really struggle with depression and lack of motivation so I really hope to get something done this year.

I have been trying to keep pens and pen pouches with each planner or planner stack, but I LOVE the way you streamlined even more with the highlighters and tabs and stickers and supplies you use with each planner stack. Gosh I get excited when a. You have a new video out and b. It's a longer one! You always give me so many ideas! I have a work planner that work gives us that we must use, then a personal yearly one. But I've decided I'm going to give myself permission to do 6 monthly ones. The excitement of setting up a new planner keeps me going, so I think I need that reset for my goals and life at the middle of the year. Also will let me play around with new ideas every 6 months.
Hey, quick tip from a messy girl lol put homes for things near where it’s easy to put away rather than take out I know aesthetics mean a lot, but if it means a difference between you putting something away and leaving something out to make a bigger mess, I will always choose the easier route! So I always try to plan for my laziest self lol and she’s a little gremlin who is lazy level 1000 lol it also helps to pair down your stuff ever since I switched over to only one person’s worth of silverware. I find myself doing the dishes every day and I also made the silverware drawer and cabinet right above and below the sink so I never have to worry about putting the dishes away as it’s always with arms reach!! Love your channel so fun to see all the way you use planners lol I could never way too lazy for that and can’t wait to read your next book!!!

📒 I’ve expanded from using just a passport TN for planning and journaling to a system of: Standard TN- planner and journal Personal TN: writing project Pocket TN: lists, scribbles, doodles, and brain dump.
Im using airtable to catalog my notebooks, notebook covers and pencilcases. Its working great so far because I started to cathalog the notebooks because of the notebook challenge and i have been using them and giving them away based on the "inventory"i made on airtable the advantage is that airtable u can put a piscture on it and make it into a gallery and excel/google sheets u cant. I think it would benefit u since u also have a lot of stuff and we tend to forget what we have.
Thank you so much for showing the behind the scenes of my planner/notebook system. I am trying to teach myself how to become a planner on paper rather than having it all ruminating in my mind and I am also trying to learn how to journal. So this has helped me really feel like I’m on the right track with it, it’s hard coming from never being able to write anything down in case it gets read and used against me to now being 40 and trying to figure out how to do it all. I hope to be able to become more productive, confident and all things by not having it all live in my head. Sorry that was a very long handed way of saying thank you and I appreciate you. 💜

Love this video. Also high learner & input. So all the learning. I use the EC notebooks for courses, and i'm using the a5 ones with the colorful coils for conferences. Though, now that conference season is winding down for me, they may just sit there until next year. Also, when I looked yesterday, Adrienne's totes weren't sold out.
📔Fun video! I bought a big package of stick-on pen loops a couple of years ago because I have to have a point-of-use pen for every notebook. Otherwise I won't use them! Hope your new system streamlines your process!
I adored this. You’ve inspired me to rethink my planner/journal set ups, especially where I keep them. I keep having to hunt them down and they’re rarely with the pens and other accessories I use with them. It makes it harder to stay consistent. 💜📓
2 phone trick is still working great for me. I have 6k words the past 3 days, and 12k so far for the month. I've found myself getting frustrated when i cant find a word, reaching for my phone, but not having anything on it i can use to procrastinate. I can FEEL the bad habit breaking. It's uncomfortable because my brain REALLY wants that dopamine hit, but I just take a few deep breaths and refocus on my words.
Thank you for the update. I love that it's working so well and that you're building new habits. The brain is so fascinating that we can change! I love it.

💜 wow girl that's a lot but it works for you. I'm trying to go the opposite way & reduce my planners. I too haven't used my Makselife planner. I may try it for HB 90 or 6M4L just to try again. I love the sterling ink planners/notebooks. I'm going to try one for next year with a booklet for other stuff. I'm trying to move away from rings and discs but feel they are best for the collection of notes I'm trying to organize. 🥴😃 You've given me some cool ideas if I use multiple planners next year. I already have 1 pen per a planner, my clena with blue/black ink in my myst SI-N1h 😊 📒

I know some people don’t enjoy planning like this but I am solidly in the camp of having pretty and playful systems that are super functional. Late commenting on this, but I love the pouches! I do not have a home office, so pouches are a must! I've been using a planny pack for my main bullet journal for years and swapping them out as the mood strikes. I also have a pretty good sized case that holds my mildliners and all of my colored pens and that's attached to a specific function as well. My spare pens are all in a separate pouch. Cups just get ignored, knocked over, or filled with unnecessary clutter, in my experience. Pouches for life. lol ETA: If you do not already use them, the adhesive pen loops you can get on Amazon are lifesavers. Almost every single notebook I use regularly gets one with my go-to pen attached.

Fantastic video! Pausing my watching to let you know you might try soaking the bag in milk. I had a precise V5 leak all over a Storiarts bag, and while milk didn't get it all out (there was a lot of ink!) it did fade it quite a bit. Thanks for the great video!
I haven't been using my notebooks as much as Ive wanted because Im doing a whole house declutter, clean and organizing before our first family vacation in almost 10 years! We will travel for 10 days and is so stressful leaving all ready and organizing the pet care while we are away. Im still using my planner (stickers make it possible 😅) and Ive already decided that a weekly mini is too much for on the go for me, using the one I have, byt have already started hand making next year one to see if I only need the calendar and a place to keep a list of appointments and kids activities in case the calendar is too small hopefully I get more time to be creative when we come back in August, but I may take time and do dedicated pouches while I organize my stuff ❤ Hugs
Not planner-related, but I tried to set up a Kanban board last night for the first time (my 3rd time through using HB90 pages) and ended up sad and frustrated. I'm in a very small space so I made 3 smallish boards (framed whiteboards from Staples delineated with washi) and bought post it page markers that match my pens/highlighter colours and started writing them out and putting them on the board. Unfortunately, they don't *stay* on there and it ended up as a chaotic mess with things falling off randomly! You said something about using super sticky post its (which I don't think I've ever seen but will have to look for) but I can't possibly fit 3 months at a time on these boards. Would it work to maybe load the boards monthly?
You can absolutely set it up one month at a time! What some people do is create all the post it's and put them in a folder or on a page on their planner. Then just move them onto the board each week or each month as needed! Don't give up!
Aside from the first half-hour's motion sickness (not really kidding), I LOVE these kinds of videos. Sarra, you are my writing systems guru. Sending all good thoughts and support!

You can get locking backs for pins! I only just discovered this for the same reason - wanted to keep the pins from falling off my motorbike backpack.

For ink off of fabric: hairspray works a lot of the time...just spray a little on and then use a wet paper towel to wipe it out.

Use rubbing alcohol to remove ink from fabric. Soaking the area works best.
