Merch suggestion: You should make up some small clear plastic boxes filled with "Official Certified Organic Bus Motor Sawmill Man Glitter"...include a little makeup powder puff inside...🙂

What an outstanding red oak log! It must have been a tough decision saw it into lowboy decking. That log would have made some beautiful 4/4 grade lumber but you made the most of what you had to work with. There will be more red oak logs and more opportunities to saw grade lumber in the future! It was a real treat to see the high quality decking that came out of that one log! Thank you all for another amazing sawing video and for the sawdust snowstorm at the end! Hope you all have a great week!

I'm new to this channel but I really enjoyed watching the process of cutting that beautiful Red Oak. I built my own sawmill a few years ago but it's a bandsaw mill and it don't really have the bell's and whistles like this one does but it's pretty darn true with the cuts of lumber. God bless from Northeast Alabama

What kerf does that blade lose?
Use to have a Stenner VBQ 60 rack bandsaw with a 72" throat with 9" deep bands on the 60" wheels, lovely noise as it cut and it used so little power even when cutting a slab 48" deep.
You never forget the smell on newly sawn timber, its simply amazing.

Congratulations on all the new subs because they must want to know about bus motor-isms and that was a SWEET log. My ears were wiggling, listening to the bus motor in that butt cut when you hollered if I was listening and I sure WAS! Any time I can catch a quiver out of that 2-cycle I'll be right there and one man running a mill is IT! Every time I was doing hook work for a small outfit I'd tell them before we started that I would watch only ONE man for signals and for the crew to make up their mind who it'd be. We all lived through it as far as II know. 4 inches of heavy fog since last evening. Happy week and GBWYall!

It looks to me like these local mills like yours would have all sorts of small leftover pieces of hardwood for sale. I can make excellent use of some of those cherry, oak, hickory and ash cutoffs making telescopes. Closed grain hardwoods make great tripods and pole blocks that will not break. I even made a tube for a small telescope out of cherry, and that makes very nice boxes to keep your eyepieces in as well.

We had a carriage from Japan . It had a simple system of backing the whole carriage back away from the cut line by 10mm(3/8 the of an inch ) on the return cut . The back set could be locked out in case of a jammed saw . No teeth getting dull by rubbing on the return trip , no sawdust flying everywhere ..Maybe something to look into . It never used the artworks for the pullback ,the carriage frame, bunks and all moved away from the saw.

Mark, Whilst watching the intro to this video, and by the way well done for picking up another 900 followers this week. I did notice however that it would appear that a little housekeeping is required, judging by the amount of scrap material laying about under the gravity rollers and the parts of the machinery. As you mention your son is a firefighter, I'm sure he would be advising a clean up around the machinery.. Remembering, A tidy workspace is a safe workspace. Stay safe. Regards Robin.

first time here, Good to See the Aussie Flag on your Back Wall. Just with your comment about the other guys not really wanting to do your job, what if you become unable to do your job due to sickness or injury? Maybe train one or both of them to do your job with you training them 1 day a week or 1 day every 2 weeks when you are not so critical on time, just in case. It is easy enough to get a Labourer to do the other 2s job rather than getting somebody to fill in to do your Job. Beautiful Wood btw, but why at 50mm thick, what is the reason?
