I like the idea of running Pathfinder in Castlevania.

I've been working up to a campaign based on Final Fantasy Tactics. Each space is 6x6 feet wide, but also 2 feet tall, and these can be stacked on top of each other to create pseudo-3D maps. Changes in elevation are measured against a character's Jump stat, which is determined by class choice and passive abilities.
FFT itself doesn't use this to gate traversal milestones, but if you pay enough attention to your level design, _you can._

Sounds really neat! Do you implement this on virtual tabletops or in person?
Absolutely! Whether you want to go the macguffin route and have it be something more static or have it be more dynamic where they have many options to figure out how to get over a wall, down a well, through a secure door etc.

@@Sacred_Art_of_Gaming It's gonna be a virtual tabletop! Probably gonna have some growing pains as I figure out how to make roll20 cooperate haha

@Densoro o absolutely but I applaud the attitude. I don’t know for sure without testing it but my mind goes to Tabletop Simulator as a possible option because it’s played in 3 dimensions at all times.
If you want to stick with a traditional VTT like roll20, experimenting with isometric maps to full embrace the final fantasy tactics vibe would likely be the way. It could be as simple as creating the 2ft tall template as a cube butttttt isometric maps are not easy to implement last time I checked. Best of luck with it!
