I just purchased and fitted a Latham steel door on back of my garage with 19 point hooply lock mechanism and 6 dog bolts as 3 each way. Boy is it solid and heavy. It will be easier to go through the wall 🤪. With the Latham door you get fitting kit for wood ,brick and steel buildings and all tools including SDS drill and even the Allan key plus draft/weather strips.

Some expanding foam between the frame and wall is good to hold solidly in place and weatherproof. That door is a serious piece of kit. Smart job as always.

The company I used does front doors that look like composite and all the styles and colours plus they're thermal and accoustic built. Thinking of scrapping my compo front door and changing for steel, much better locking mechanism.
I would not recommend these doors, I purchased some a few months ago from the same company (I recognise them) and my doors arrived I a poor state and the after care was horrendous.

Unless the shutter on the front of your garage is just as good (it probably isn't) then it's a moot point how good the security door is.

No one’s getting through that door without a key lol. Seems like it would’ve come with the giant allen key needed for the adjustments
The two doors are serious security lol. But I guess as the structure accesses a laneway it’s necessary.

What are your thoughts on bi fold doors, upvc or aluminium?
I like them both but i think Aluminium looks more classy but it usually more expensive

Which screws/plugs did you use to secure the door? Ordered the same door but without fixing kit...
Hi you can use concrete screws on 5/6 inch screws with plugs on
