    Great video.
The more I see videos on snow caves, igloos, etc the more I'm convinced it's only worth the effort if you find yourself in a desolate place, with no protection and very high winds. We have this romantic idea of a igloo but I think the Eskimos only used in exposed, Ice plains, most of the times those guys probably used some sort of leather tents.
Other than those precise, excepcional situations I believe it's better to pass on the snowcave/igloo and use the energy and time in other ways.

Agreed but snow caves are so cool. Igloos too

I say more power to ya if you wanna sleep under enough snow to suffocate you. The fact that the ceiling sagged is enough to get me running for a warm lodge. I just don't think they are safe unless you let them set up for at least a full day. You just don't know what they are going to do. Snow piles in layers, and each layer has a different quality. If you have a dense layer above a soft layer and you dig a hole under that.... whalla! Death. But, I have no judgement about what anyone wants to do, up to each one of the risks we want to take. I think I would prefer digging down 2 or 3 feet and pitching my tent. Build up a windbreak of snow and probably stay just as warm. But as you said, it is a romantic idea.

Hey. I d love to build such an cool snow cave. How about the danger of breaking down or lack of oxygen in such a cave? Can you tell which watch you have ...? Greetings from germany

When I did this, we built our snow cave just like he did except that we also poked a hand sized hole in the top to allow for a small flow of oxygen. Maybe it wasn't necessary, but it was still warm enough.

The cave isn't sealed up by any means, and the position of the entryway at the bottom of the shelter allows heavier CO² to drain out. If I wanted to cook inside, I'd make provisions for more ventillaton, but that's best done outside if possible.
As for collapse, you just have to feel out the cohesiveness of the snow. Here in California, we tend to have relatively warm, heavy snow that's very structural. It's not like I was doing structural analysis to prove that collapse was impossible, but in the morning I did walk over the top and even jump on it with no ill effects.
The watch is a Casio SGW300H-1AV

Eating TOO much snow would probably be counterproductive to staying warm, but otherwise...sure, no reason not to go Hansel and Gretel on that bad boy.

The leaking hot water bottles are also due to that the silicone seals shrink in cold weather.

Yep. Plus, while my stove burns fuel quite cleanly for what it is...a gasoline flame in an enclosed space still makes me leery. Unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide...a well-ventilated kitchen is just more comforting.
