Patty, I thought when someone was in hospice, they were entitled to caregivers being sent out regularly to spell the primary care giver, so s/he cd go out and get some relief? Of course, hospice is only for ppl near the end of their life, and no hope for getting better. That’s what they told us when my dad was near the end with cancer. And they sent out caregivers almost every day for at least a few hours, so that my mom could go out and feel the breeze and visit friends or just go to the grocery store, for crying out loud. Are you certain that no help is available? Maybe ask the social worker at the hospital. They can help arrange these things. Also, possibly your Mom’s PCP. SENDING HUGS! 🤗🤗🤗 I enjoyed your unboxing today and I did one of my own! 😁
Thank you Susan! I might get a volunteer here and there for an hour but I can't really get out to get anything done in an hour. And they don't offer any help like I get with the CNA visits. I get someone 4x a week between the nurse and CNA but it's a 45 minute visit and I usually have to speak with them while they are here. I have to hire people in at least 4 hour increments so I can get out and actually do a few things. It's difficult to say the least.
@@PattymacMakes Wow. I’m sorry. Maybe things have changed. Or maybe bc you live in a different state. But these ppl were trained caregivers, but not CNAs, per se. They would either care for my dad, like give him a bath, or they would wash dishes, or do laundry, or sweep the floor or whatever needed to be done. They were there to do whatever; It didn’t necessarily have to just be in regards to his medical care. They were there to keep an eye on him, but also to help out in whatever way my parents needed. And I think they usually came in 2 to 4 hour shifts. I’m going back a couple of decades, so I can’t recall for sure. But just in case, did you actually ask her doctor or the social worker at the hospital if they could provide some hospice care? Sometimes we believe certain things are not available, but yet when we specifically ask, it turns out they really are available. Just make sure, because if the help is available, you certainly deserve it! 🌟
@@PattymacMakes PS: These people were paid; not volunteers. And my dad didn’t even have medical insurance. He was a vet, and all his treatments were done by the VA hospital, bc that’s all he had.
Thank you! Unfortunately, that's not how any of this works. Social media, really anything online, requires constant updates. Some things expect 3 - 5 times a day....like shorts and instagram or tik tok. TH-cam expects 3 -5 times a week longer form video updates. I can't keep up with it. Not to mention blogs that require twice weekly updates to stay relevant. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't getting tired of it.

My friend who passed away this month WAS my backup person. We helped each other with so many things and he sat with mom when I needed that. But now I'm largely on my own with it. My good friend from North Carolina is staying over with us during the week so I can get out and take care of the numerous errands and meetings I'm having to do now. Thank goodness for that because I'd never have made it otherwise. TH-cam is RELENTLESS. People who have not done it can not possibly understand the pressure it puts on us.

If you have a Hobby Lobby they sometimes has 12 x 12 boxes for about 3.99... Wal-Mart has 12 x 12 boxes I think they are almost $7 now, I have tons of them that hold projects or UFOs in them
I am sorry for your loss. I have noticed other streamers doing frequent short videos. I'm guessing that is so that they can meet their targets with You Tube. Also lots are doing Shorts to attract viewers.
I'm going to send them the quilt I'm going to make for our queen size bed. It's just going to be too big for me to quilt myself. I'm making a twin-size quilt for my daughter, and I'm going to have to quilt it by hand.
YES!! Quilting a big project at home is just too much. Plus, it's not my favorite thing to do if I'm being honest. I didn't mind the straight line quilting I did on my simple mismatched patchwork quilt, but anything bigger is just too much.
Oh that's actually a really good idea! I'll have to see if it will let me do that. In the meantime, it is listed in my first comment that I pinned and in the description box.
I have never set up anything like that. youtube does allow for tips and super thanks which I sometimes receive. I guess I should look into the other thing you mention. Thank you for asking!
Your welcome it's just if you live in willow grove I can take class with you. I watch your video. I try to do the best I can but there are alot. I like the organization. I have sone that I am starting to see that the room is getting better
The one time I ordered from Missouri Star was a jelly roll which was a today special. When I received the package, the fabric looked absolutely nothing like the picture. When I called to return it, the customer service rep was adamant that I could not return it. After spending WAY too long on the phone, she begrudgingly said I could return it. That was my very last order. They need to work on their so called customer service.
I'm really surprised to hear this because I've had great success with the customer service. Sometimes the packages are prepared as nicely as I would like, but I've never had any issues with customer service like that.
Was this a long time ago? I know they were a little less generous when they weren’t such a big company. But if they sent you the wrong jelly roll, the shd hv replaced it and sent you a return shipping label for the wrong one; or at least given your money back and the label. Not all of their reps are as nice; but most are. Several years back, they accidentally sent me a jelly roll instead of what I ordered. When I called them about it, they, of course, wanted the jelly roll back & sent me my item. Awhile later, they accidentally sent me an extra item. When I called to tell them (trying to be honest) the rep acted totally annoyed that I bothered them with that; and said, don’t you want it??? You can’t win for trying some days. But I have realized that the reps don’t necessarily represent the views of the owners; they just work there. And now the company has gotten so huge, I don’t think they sweat the small stuff anymore. In the early days, a mistake like that cd make or break them. But not now. But truly, most of the reps are very nice. I hope you don’t lose out because of one bad apple. 🍎
Best wishes for this hard time. I had both my parents on hospice 6 years apart. I was the only sibling out of 5 nearby. It was challenging for sure. Miss them every day. I used your code for the first time today. I had a couple things I had chosen yesterday so the timing was great and 20% off made a difference on $100 dollar order. Thank you !
I have been a caregiver for my Mom for the last 5 years. I understand, because she has advanced dementia and is bedbound, so she can’t be left alone. My husband and I are living in my childhood home caring for her, and since we have no backup we haven’t gone anywhere, much less go on a vacation. I’m not feeling sorry for myself just letting you know I understand. It’s an honor to make sure her last wishes are respected. Love, hugs, and prayers for you and your Mom, your friend is in a better place.♥️👍🙏
@@villagesteader3552 oh my gosh, that's really hard. Mom is still mom, but her body is wearing out. Her needs are starting to advance beyond what I can do by myself so things will have to change. But for now I'm doing my best.
@@PattymacMakes bless you, that’s all we can do! My Mom’s lifelong wish was to donate her body when she was finished with it. She will go to the University of Buffalo Medical School. Since COVID they don’t take anyone with a communicable disease so I have to let her go here at home. The risk of sending her to a nursing facility is to great. She can’t speak for herself so I need to. I’m lucky that my Dr. comes to the house!♥️

If you have a Hobby Lobby they sometimes has 12 x 12 boxes for about 3.99...
Wal-Mart has 12 x 12 boxes I think they are almost $7 now,
I have tons of them that hold projects or UFOs in them
I love Hobby Lobby and get the 12x12 boxes. They work so well for storing WIP and blocks
Thank you! But I'm unable to browse any stores due my mother's condition.
@@PattymacMakes you can do it online, both stores ship
Ignore people that say negative things,
It's difficult when they email it to you. LOL But I do try to let it roll off.
Hope that your load of responsibility lightens soon and that your income increases.
Thank you!!!
I am so sorry for the loss of your good friend.
Thank you.
I am sorry for your loss.
I have noticed other streamers doing frequent short videos. I'm guessing that is so that they can meet their targets with You Tube.
Also lots are doing Shorts to attract viewers.
Thank you! Generally shorts attracts a different audience and they require millions of views to generate any income.
I send most of my quilts to the "spa".
Oh I LOVE that term!!! Thank you for sharing that!
Hi Patty is it possible for you to add your MSQC link on your links page?
Oh that's actually a really good idea! I'll have to see if it will let me do that. In the meantime, it is listed in my first comment that I pinned and in the description box.
❤❤❤
thank you
Do you have something on your site that allows us to send you a "coffee" or something? I see that on other quilters' sites.
I have never set up anything like that. youtube does allow for tips and super thanks which I sometimes receive. I guess I should look into the other thing you mention. Thank you for asking!
@@PattymacMakes how do we send tips?
Take one day at a time .
Thank you. I'm definitely trying to do that.
Your welcome it's just if you live in willow grove I can take class with you. I watch your video. I try to do the best I can but there are alot. I like the organization. I have sone that I am starting to see that the room is getting better
Patty, I was looking at that box, too. Could you also let us know if it would work for large cuts of cross stitch fabric? Thanks!
I totally think it would work for that. It's pretty roomy.
Thank you !
When are you going to be on
430 EST on Saturday which is my usual time when I'm uploading normally.
I am so sorry for the loss of your good friend. Take care of yourself first and we'll be here for you ❤
Thank you!
