(I ask because I actually have a question, it's obvious that the studio audience saw the last catchphrase used in the opening titles, BUT were they actually told the answer before the show, (in case some young audience members were unable to immediately figure it out?)
This is like...the corniest game show ever. The phrases are just ungodly bad, and they are so specific on rulings where adding or removing a "the" from the phrase gets ruled against you. But that bonus round music is on point.
I have never heard that game over sound played twice. I don't live in Australia, but I can tell by the sad 4 note fanfare cuppled with the canned audience reaction telling the tail. No bonus money was awarded twice. I wonder if there was and instence where the bonus money was a complete no go?
and this was funny, I reckon anyway... was the good ole' times for humor still then dry humor if nothing else... now he wouldn't even dare say that and IF did would be fired and it broadcast cast all over social media for weeks afterwards about his "such terrible, insensitive" remarks...
The producers of WoF sacked Burgo in '96 and it was never the same since then, even they later admitted they made a mistake sacking him. Catch Phrase lasted until 2004 on prime time TV, so it was definitely successful.

This is the problem with intelligent comedy. It’s limited by the audience.
