I think that's a good thing it is not in India. Here, there is a concept of burning the material memory completely of the person who died. You only have that memory of him/her in your head. And it was more of a spiritual wellbeing.

I don't get it - why is it difficult to understand that unlike breast milk and baby hair, there's no significance in sperm and poop. The whole point of her brand is to preserve something that has memories and meanings associated with it, in the form of jewelry. Preserving breast milk, umbilical cord and baby hair have emotions attached to it, as these are the marks of the beginning of the journey of a mother and a child. I don't know whether people find such emotional aspects in poop and sperm, and maybe that's why she doesn't take such orders. I don't think she is biased for rejecting such orders.

No one supported poop, but anupam was trying to make a point that may be she was disgusted with sperm so she didn't do that, and then could tell her that this is more like a passion and in the same way people would be disgusted with breast milk and umbilical chord thing but she saved it.

I believe that she wouldn't accept sperm and poop (and maybe even female white discharge too, but no one brought it up). But when she said "ew no, I'll never accept orders for sperm preservation", it sounded like she was biased against those people's wishes. She should have just said that she wouldn't accept anything other than breast milk, umbilical cord and baby hair, to avoid confusion.
This product has a sense, with several countries and culture having the tradition of preserving placenta, umbilical cord etc., and some people also create plants out of ashes, in India, it'll be considered a taboo, and more of a niche product tbh.

It is normal for those who bury their dead to be obsessed about preserving the body because their religions are heavily focused on resurrection of the body at the time of the last judgement & believe that one can't experience eternal pleasure in heaven if the body isn't preserved. This is how the body-centric approach amongst these cultures have lead to rise of materialism. Hence such jewelry goes against Hindu cultural & spiritual ethos and its buyers are more likely to be non-Hindus or those ultra-rich Yankeephiles of Lutyens' Delhi & South Bombay who have lost all connections with their Hindu roots.

In US, you will see many families having the ash of their loved ones mixed with Seeds. In southern Ameircan & Tribal cultures, using bones as jewellery was also a tradition. DNA preserving is almost quite normal.

That is not why India is a developing country. There are much more to that. But on this matter, this is some sort of an art form. From an investor's point of view this won't be a business that can take off which is what the sharks want, to make money. And a lot people including myself find it utterly disgusting. So you can't blame them.

And for everyones knowledge extraction of DNA is not a big deal..it can be preserved from any body tissue..throat swab(that's how COVID tests are done)

Why are the sharks acting so immature? What is so yuck about breast milk, child’s hair or umbilical cord? This is a very common concept in US. And they asked her about a weird request and turned it on her asking why not making with sperm. What sentimental value does a sperm have. Unless a woman wants to preserve sperm of her dead husband 😂.
What does a sentimental value a breast milk or umbilical cord hold, these things are important only during a certain time. I don’t get it…why do you need to preserve your own breast milk. And only because something is common in abroad doesn’t make it suitable for all countries.

Concept is good but i don't think it will work in India. As someone who is listening that body is nashwar since birth and no need to attach with material things too much. It would be a waste for at least people like me as well as those who are into spirituality.
