And really, these weren't fluke wins. These were masterful wins where the whole team is really playing selflessly and intelligently. The fact that we held Ottawa to ZERO shots on goal in the third shows that they're finally doing what we've always known they could. I'm very happy with how this season has gone, and I think they're doing fantastic considering that so many are so young with so little NHL experience. The fans can really tell that Cody Glass WANTS IT SO BAD and that's what we need every player to show us. I really hope we see minimal movement at the trade deadline since they finally seen to be clicking so nicely.
I totally agree with you. At some point, a team invested into a system isn't fluking their way into wins. It is a masterful perfection of the game they are trying to play. It isn't the Hynes "we hit you hard and we are tough," it is the "we make the neutral zone miserable for you AND we hit you AND we back check AND we forecheck."
I came in with this with low expectations and the 5 -10 start. I was thinking to myself it’s a rebuild year and after the 9-2 lost to Dallas, I was expecting them to sell, but even though I didn’t expect much I’m glad hockey is just exciting to watch again and I want them to win I’m also glad John Hynes is not behind the bench!
fluke win ppl argument: is we should be beating these bad teams therefore it’s a fluke we are???… well if we should beat them we would then by definition be too talented to sell at the deadline. Maybe we’ve gotten a bit hotter than we will remain over the rest of the season but it’s clear brunette’s system has taken hold. The team across the board is just playing better.
