Not sure. Guess I can let you know when I have a medium sized to large park created! Have you tried turning your graphic settings down? Even at medium the game still looks fantastic and will probably help fix your lag issues with larger parks.
I have messed around with graphic settings and still have isues. I have a pretty fast computer too. Oh well, I'll try it again with the spring update. Thanks

Did they fix the performance issues? Creating a medium size to large park for me became unplayable.

That's odd. My computer is just "OK" and runs the game awesome on just the medium settings. Oh well... good luck!
