You should come over to the Princeton MarketFair or the Bridgewater Commons in New Jersey. The MarketFair is just a short drive away from the Quaker Bridge Mall and once had a TGI Friday’s that closed down recently. As for Bridgewater Commons, you might want to check it out, because it’s a three-story mall and there’s not many malls that go three stories lately.
Holy crap! WTF happened to this place?! I grew up in Ocean County, and this was THE mall to be in the '70s, '80s, & '90s! It was a great alternative to our boring local mall, the Ocean County Mall. Seaview Square Mall, down the highway from Monmouth Mall, was the dead mall back then. Hard to imagine this mall would meet a similar fate.
One mall that’s interesting in my home town is the Galleria mall in York,PA a casino has gone into it and few stores are left a whole half of it is basically empty. But it’s worth a look up and checking out! Let me know if you stop by!
Check out the south mall in Allentown pa best to go on a Thursday early evening food truck event in parking lot or check out Palmer park mall Palmer township.
Hi Captain. Love watching your videos. You post great local content. Especially the history tours. I Need to join one when you start up again. Have you gone to the Quakerbridge mall? It out near Princeton. Used to go there all the time when I was in college.
Not a dead mall per se. The owners deliberately triggered the vacancies by not renewing leases several years ago in preparation for a massive renovation and redevelopment project. Prior to this the mall was still pretty active, by no means a dead or dying mall. The section between Barnes & Noble and the theater (including Macys) will remain. Boscovs will also remain at what is currently the opposite end of the mall. The rest is being demolished to make way for outdoor stores, park / recreational features and residential buildings. A town square of sorts. The asbestos signs at JC Penny are the result of preparation for the demolition of the building. Most structures built prior to the mid 70's have asbestos in them. The parking garage was next to the back of the Boscov building near the new medical building.
It is kind of amazing that Boscovs has survived, now that Sears is gone it's the only store still left from the Granite Run Mall. If you want to do a video of the most insane design for a bunch of connected parking lots go to the outdoor mall that they build after tearing down the Granite Run Mall, nested parking lots surrounded by crazy little roads, I hate it so much. I assume you have already been to the Springfield Mall, that seems to still be alive and mostly well. Is the Concord Mall still going? Haven't been down to the Concord Mall in many years since Rt 1 got so built up it now takes half an hour to go 6 miles from Media to Rt 202. A very large dead outside mall is the Rockvalle Outlets near Lancaster, take the new scooter there and plenty of room to scoot around without anyone getting in your way, then go someplace fun like the steam train museum a few miles south of there.
Have you been to the Freehold Mall about 15 miles west. I used to visit the Monmouth mall when I shared Jersey Shore houses between 1999 to 2006. Sad seeing it so empty. I can actually remember what stores were in there seeing it. Thank you for sharing your video footage. 🛍️ 😮🥵
How about you do the ocean county mall in toms river nj . I am from the burg and moved to nj about 6 years ago and never been there although im about 20 min away from it
"Pretty soon these places won't exist" lyric hitting pretty hard here 😭

The fact they just found that there should be alarming.
Wow, that's really empty. Surely it costs more to keep it open. 🇬🇧

Most of that mall is being torn down. Going to be replaced by outdoor stores and residential housing
Bruce Springsteen did shop there as he shopped in the Bamburgers that had become a Macys. That was back in 1978.
Check out the Park City Mall, in Lancaster PA. I really like the Chinese food in their food court!
That mall is downright deserted!
@phillycaptain: MANY dying/dead mall owners are not running their aircon to save money. Echelon mall still hasnt reopened since the April fire
I don't think that store "Teesty" is pronounced "testes". Ha!
Hey, let's all go to that balls store!
I was thinking Voorhees town centre, echelon mall ,and you mentioned it.
Hey Philly Captain, great video and tour of the Monmouth Mall -Eatontown, NJ by the NJ shore..Stay cool, enjoy and TOODLES..
Are there any JC Penney’s left?
There is a few here in western PA malls. Monroeville Mall and Westmoreland Malls have them. Boscovs have all left the area if they were ever here.
@@joshuadurham9699 I live in Philly. We have Boscov’s. I could live in Boscov’s.
@@ElleCee62978 I think there is one North of Pittsburgh but I've never been to one
There’s a JC Penney at the Oxford Valley Mall
@@Jondav95 It’s still there?

When you left the anchor store it's like you went to an alternate reality. Kind of spooky.
Burger King still operates in Russia.
Moorestown mall going down too
The vacancy rate has gotten worse?
The Wooley Mommoth mall is extinct 🦣
Asbestos looks cool under a microscope
The shore malls. Hammontown mall
