saenchai is superb in terms of defensive technique and startegy...buakaw is muay thai's extreme force and hardcore brutality. both fighters are great fighters..both are inspiration to this generation's muay thai warriors.
Buakaw is also a genius. If you don't knock him out cold in the first round, expect that you'll lose the fight. He can adapt prettt quickly. Saenchai likes to play around while also destroying your focus and confidence, then knock you out cold. I will say that Buakaw is more strategic in fight. Saenchai is the one who dominates his opponents.

I feel like Saenchai is so happy when he fights it's infectious. Buakaw never grinned as much as I saw in this video.

Buakaw and Saenchai are best friends from when they were young. Buakaw just knows every tricks Saenchai has in his pocket and Saenchai just loved to tease his best friend more than any thing else. What you can see from these legendary duo is only their child play though it seems to be a real fight in people's eyes because they're too good even in their child play.

When you see how Saenchai makes complete fools of most fighters in friendly sparring, including how he dominates distance and the sweep game, and see this clip, you realize how good Buakaw is. Saenchai’s usual tricks didn’t work to any extent, compared to what they usually do with other fighters, and there were so many meta moves (faints, catches, evasions, etc) going on, and at super hero speed. Just brilliant. One of my favorite clips. Humbled and inspires me every time.

I wonder how Buakaw would respond to the faints, if he was concerned that the following blow would be full power? These guys are both amazing, so cool to see them in the ring together. I do think If they ever did fight Buakaw’s size and age would be the deciding factor. But Seanchai still the GOAT 🐐

Pretty sure Buakaw wouldve eaten Saenchai if this was a usual match. This being a friendly match saved Saenchai from absolute annihilation. I'm telling you, you're overestimating Saenchai too much for beating randoms. Buakaw has been eating actual fighters.

Haha I train Muay Thai and I can't express how much I love it, not just because it is brutal but it is fun and you learn self discipline. People That are shouting at this video is because they do not have one bit of idea of what Muay Thai is and can be.

saenchai has something especial, that's pure talent, i'm not saying that buakaw is not a talented guy, but saenchai is just amazing very technical.

Buakaw's grappling at the beginning makes it look like man against boy. Also, the part at the end where Saenchai dodges like 20 punches in a row while kneeing and kicking Buakaw and then finally throwing him is pretty fucking dope

Thanks for posting such a vid. Man, this was so fine to see. Thai Boxing is very misunderstood. The smiles on these Champions tells me that joy is part of this martial art. I can hurt anyone and vice versa, but to have respect and joy while competing, is maturity for spiritual reasons and very pleasing to see and hear.

In a real match, it can go either way. Saenchai has great combos with powerful hands and kicks. But Buakaw is like a tank and will keep moving forward.

you see those punches buakaw landed? they were fast and forced saenchai to clinch. Imagine how muvh dmg that wouldve done if he put weight behind that combination? It would have either been damaging or even knocked saenchai out.
You did notice that Saenchai wasn't taking the whole thing serious as well? I believe it wouldn't be that easy to corner him, even if it's Buakaw. They are both great in the way they fight, but they do belong to different weight classes after all.
Actually if you put too much weight into the puch it would be slower because of the momentum and you have to pull back to continue.

its funny/nice that usually (there are exceptions like mcgregor), the better the fighter, the better their attitude, shitty attitudes are usually found in small fries.

kiltrofilms He's been submitted twice by two no-name fighters. He's had only a few wins against semi-big name opponents. He has YEARS and about 8-10 more wins before he could be as dominate as someone like GSP or Silva. Yet he has more hype than either one of them has ever had, the definition of overrated in my opinion.

Alan S The Aldo win was impressive, I'll give you that. Chad Mendes on two-weeks notice is much less impressive. I will be impressed if he beats Diaz at 170, but again, Nate is coming in even more last minute than Mendes did.

Well even buakaw is more about technique than anything else. He gets his power from technique because hes a slender guy. Sure he hits hard, but thats not because hes buff, because hes not. Hes actually below the worldwide average for both height and weight for an adult male, so i wouldn't consider him to be particularly muscular. I still think hes one of the greatest of all time, but for different reasons than everyone else. i just think its silly that everyone focuses on his strength instead of his talent, because there are more than a couple billion men on this earth who are physically stronger than he is. Why focus on his relatively ordinary strength instead of his absolutely extraordinary skill? It takes serious skill to be as aggresive of a fighter as he is and have it all be perfectly coordinated.

Saenchai is like an unorthodox Nak Muay, cause he combines techniques from other martial arts (the question mark kick) as well as adding his own moves (the cartwheel kick).
Buakaw is a pure Nak Muay, who relies on the traditional techniques, coupled with boxing.
It's awesome to see two legends of the sport just clowning around with one another. They both dominated the sport in such distinctly different ways.

Seanchai's technique blossoms on later rounds when he figures out his opponent ranges, techniques, and response. thats when he starts to really show his uniquene. when he fights his opponents they gets frustrated, or when they get hurt they crawl back to their default style of fighting, or when they get hit or a hit is coming the ball up for defense.. this is where saenchai works really great..
but again, against Buakaw who doesnt have those weakness, when he gets frustrated he just keeps coming forward and does NOT ball up for defense he powers through you... his default style of fighting is his aggression how do you dazzle this type of opponent. with such power and range it would be hard for saenchai to evade his kicks. i dont see saenchai wining against this monster
