Hi Mini. Congrats on the new house and you’ve done a top job furnishing HOWEVER you need to get persimmon to snag that laminate floor. Especially the Finish around the doors at the entrance they’ve typically used a novice Chippy there and its totally unacceptable. The joints will pop within a year or so! All the best
@@minia7897 thanks for the reply. Mine is semi detached Saunton. Almost identical to Souter but about 10cm wider. My main bathroom does not come with a Windows says due to privacy reasons. Permission could of easily use a frosted none clear window so no one can see in or out. Your house is done up so nicely. Deco goes so well. Could I please ask you which type of shower have you picked for your ensuite?
@@therandiked oh I’ve never heard of that before! They all have them on our estate. Thank you so much! The shower was upgraded to the ‘rainfall’ and was an extra £250 but if I’m honest we never use it as the cubicle is tiny and it ends up impossible to shower under it so we use the smaller head that was with it.. we will definitely be changing the shower for a bigger tray/glass screen in the future.
Thanks for the tour, how many car parking spaces do you have? Some of the adverts I've seen suggest 1, which seems a little odd for a three bed house. Thanks.
Strangely only 1 but we did have off road parking as no one lived opposite, it was very annoying though so we ended up moving and renovating a home as much as we loved the home the parking situation and how other parked on the estate in general was fustrating and dangerous (especially in Icy conditions)
I really need your help. We are trying to find out the measurements to the porch because they don’t seem to be on any of the floor plans or on persimmons website. Do you know how big it is as we are trying to get our flooring book in.
We moved as our parking wasn’t great, the porch was around 4ft but 2.5ft it was a pretty good size for a porch enough for a couple of people stand and get there shoes on but not wide enough for a seat etc
Beautiful house, we are planning to get a Windermere which is much like this, could you please tell how’s the temperature during summer and winter? Also do you hear much noise when it rains? I’m asking as the master bedroom is in the roof. Thanks in advance for your response.
Summer could getting pretty hot in the top bedroom but I never personally found it unbearable, we was on top of a hill so found a wind flow from the en-suite window to bedroom. It was very quite though there’s still a loft above 😊
That was great mini thank you for posting this video as we are in the process of purchasing a Souter (now called Windermere). Did you push for many freebies? I know 5 year ago you couldn’t push for anything in the wet rooms (kitchen/bathroom) but it may have changed now? Your kitchen tiles are amazing & looking at copying off yours 😂
do the mirror wardrobes come as an upgrade? Also when we bought our persimmons Mosley 5 years ago they wouldn’t do any tiling for bathroom or floor (even floor vinyl). Has this changed at all?
Hey! Thank you, they do some tiling but the options weren’t great so we convinced them to screed the flooring for us to lay the laminate and tiles - plus if I’m honest it was half the price 😅 the wardrobes you can also add as an upgrade but we brought them online and built them - we got flooring & integrated fridge freezer as freebies and then they did offer us turf when we moved in but we already had plans for the garden, you can push for freebies even when you move as complaints can offer them too so it’s worth it! My neighbor got all her garden turfed because they left loads of rocks & poor top soil so they sorted it all 🥰
Hi. Well we’re all set for December 23rd. But if a rush but cannot wait. We nearly stayed out & got an extension on our current house but they came back with a good offer of £3k, free Intergrated washing machine, dishwasher & fridge freezer, granite kitchen sink & tap, medium spec carpets through out & luxury vinyl. A decent deal but given the current climate & interest rate that’s probably why. Do you know by any chance the window measurements for the kitchen, living room & main bedroom. Just for blinds 😂 as we won’t be able to get anyone to size up for a few weeks yet & just trying to work out some cost if worth paying someone or doing it ourselves. Great video again & hope you are still very happy in your home 🏡 👍🏼
@@petersmith8037 wow you got such a good deal with some freebies! I don’t actually have the measurements although I know from measuring one on the same estate and then ours there was differences in sizes from the plasterers - we just put our sizes into ‘247 blinds’ and got them on next day delivery - it was alot cheaper and easy to install 😊
Hello, Really nice. I just loved the floor tiles in kitchen and w.c. we are planning to buy a souter however been told that will have an electric hob and no gas hob. But I see you have a gas hob. Was this a upgrade and if yes any idea how much it costs? Thanks again for uploading this video was really helpful.
Hi,we are moving to a souter in June , could you tell me the dimension of your dinning room table as we are looking to buy a new one and did not know what size to go for. Your home is beautiful.
Hi, thank you and good luck for your move! Our table is 120 x 80 x 75 cm (L x W x H) the chairs fit snug! It’s not a massive kitchen so if we had gone any bigger you would struggle to open/close the door ☺️
Hi, I did pay for integrated appliances (it included the dishwasher, washer/dryer & fridge freezer) but if you don’t pay through persimmon they just leave the space empty - they don’t even leave a cupboard door which is annoying!
Hey! Yes it’s mainly in the wardrobe and in draws, the Souter does lack storage but as the bedrooms are good size and there’s just two of us we utilised the spare bedrooms 😊
We have looked at your Souter tours (many times in fact) and we were wondering how many counter top plug sockets you have and are they a standard amount. Thank you. House looks great by the way!
Aww thank you! Hopefully it was helpful. The plug sockets aren’t actually standard, we added an extra double plug and I 100% recommend! As standard it’s just the one under the boiler usually so we did symmetrical the other side of the cooker ☺️
I brought a persimmon home that is 20yrs old approx, I have done some renovations like opened up under the stairs and found waste plasterboard and other materials as well as bottles of urine. I have had to start replacing the en-suit and again found a bottle of 20yr old urine as well as more plasterboard of cuts and bags lumps of plaster. Remove the bath panel same story bottle of urine and bag of multi finish as well as plaster. I expect after 20yrs for items to need replacing but urine and build waste is atrocious, I hope they changed as urine is bodily fluid and a bio hazard
One question, do you use fibrenest as I heard that persimmon will use their wifi broadband and, you cant have other broadbands in the newbuilds, or its not true? thank you
You can have any that’s in your area! If you are first on a new build estate in the middle of no where you might struggle, we went with BT fibre as they are so good in our area - but at the start we wanted Virgin and they wasn’t in our area, hope that helps 😊
They can in the loft space, we currently only use the storage cupboard and usually keep the door slightly a jar - we moved in during summer time so think that also helps!
May l ask about your kitchen cupboards, l'm looking forward to change my cupboards. Is it wood or metal? If it's wood what's the name of your kitchen cupboards and the countertop.xxx
Hi! The cupboards are wood with a gloss coating (im currently trying to screw a spice rack inside one which is proving slightly difficult) they are the ‘new York’ Grey cabinets with the ‘woodstone’ countertops 🙂xx
I'm thinking of booking a viewing for a Souter mid-terrace next week. Can I ask what the sound is like in a Souter terrace (are you ever disturbed by neighbours talking/music/TV etc)? (and the video was really helpful thank you!)
Hi, thankfully we have brilliant neighbours so very very rarely get disturbed or hear much noise at all! However I do know someone in a Souter end terrace that has there neighbour playing loud music a lot so I think it more depends on who you would be joint on to, and thank you!
What furnishings? When you buy a new build you are purchasing the shell.. no ‘furnishings’ are included not even flooring so therefore nothing changed simply added.

Yes it does but only 2 and they are very small! (Its quite hard to find a cutlery tray that fits in)

Watched the video because my mum had just bought the same home, shame the video size is so small?
Can you please let know how much did persimmon charge for the kitchen cabinets and flooring
It was £450 upgrade for the gloss kitchen & worksurface - the flooring we tiled ourselves for £300 (including downstairs WC and hallway)
