In HGSS there's an NPC that discusses a pink butterfree can be found in Jhoto. Because of this, I used the map from this book to search every single pixel in the game trying to find it. No pink butterfree.
Oh, I have Volume 2, it is for the Kanto part, and also has a full pokedex for all 493 pokemon. I seem to have misplaced or lost my copy of Volume 1. Need to go on a expedition to my parents attic and try to find it 😅
You can still get the mythical Pokémon, but there’s a bit of a process to do it on the gen 4 games. You need an unsecured network to do it, or a hotspot without a password. There’s certain DNS settings you need to enter, any TH-cam guide will do, and you can get them that way
