I think in this game a lot of the stages are in shadow's mind as black doom is trying to drive him into becoming his ultimate weapon and eventually they'll fight in the real world where shadow will ironically use all the powers he learned from his father
Love how the Radical Highway remix comes in the minute Doom's Eye shows up, and the transition from the Space Colony Ark to that stage is just (chef's kiss). They really going all out with the aesthetic and spectacle this time.

So Sega decided to make Sonic a literal Dragonball Z character, while also making Shadow a literal Symbiote host. I wouldn't be surprised if Shadow also got a beyond Super form, because he'll also need that to catch up to Frontiers Sonic.
Ehh but there were a lot of alternate paths and 0:32 look at this section here it’s small but The rings are put out of the way if you don’t sway toward them you’ll run out of boost for the long boost section. I’ve seen 5 different people not notice and run out of boost it’s small but it shows how thought out the desighn is
