  • -What is the meaning of Mercy?
-The people of Ta’weel say “Mercy” for Allah (the Most High) refers to kindness and Allah (the Most High) can’t be attributed with kindness
-Examples of how this Ta’weel 1) corrupts the meaning and 2) removes perfection for Allah (the Most High)
-Example of the problems of the creed that the speech of Allah is created
    The Mercy of Allah
Ayah 1: the Basmallah, the difference between ar-Rahman and ar-Raheem
-Benefit: the two types of Rahmah 1) general and 2) specific
-The Muslim is never inferior because he is benefitting from the Mercy of Allah (the Most High)
Ayah 2: The Dua of the Angels for His Mercy
-Benefit: this Ayah includes Knowledge, Mercy, Ability and Will for Allah (the Most High)
Ayah 3: Allah (the Most High) is Merciful to the believers
-Benefit: if a Muslim believes Allah is Merciful, then wouldn’t he seek it?
Ayah 4: “My Mercy encompasses everything”
Ayah 5: He has made Mercy obligatory upon Himself
Benefit: the Mercy of Allah (the Most High) and a man who constantly sins
    Ayah 6: He is al-Ghafoor, ar-Raheem
    -Difference between Forgiveness and Mercy
Ayah 7: He is the Most Merciful of those who show Mercy
-Comparison of Mercy for two reasons 1) superlative and 2) all benefit goes back to Him (the Most High)
-The example of a man who invents, can creation be attributed to the inventor?
-A discussion as to why the people of Ta’weel rejected Mercy for Allah:
    1) intellect doesn’t affirm Mercy for Allah (the Most High)
    2) it would necessitate weakness
    3) it would mean that Allah (the Most High) is emotional
    4) it contradicts their belief in Qadr
-An example, “Was Abu Sufyan always beloved to Allah?”
-The story of Aby Sufyan’s conversion to Islam (may Allah be Pleased with him)
-Benefit: how can a person attain the Mercy of Allah?
    1) Ihsaan, 2) Taqwa and 2) Eman
    The Attribute of Pleasure
The Attributes of Anger: Ghadab, as-Sukht, al-Kiraahiya and al-Intiqaam
    Ayah 1: Whoever kills a Muslim…
-Response to the Khwarij who use this Ayah to justify major sins are Kufr
Ayah 2: the Munafiqoon folloed the Sakht of Allah
Ayah 3: “When they Angered us, We Punished them”
-Proof that that the Ta’weel of the people of Tafweed is incorrect otherwise the Ayah wouldn’t make sense
