In the medieval period, it was taboo to kill a nobleman. if you met one in battle, sometimes shit would happen and a noble would die, but the goal was to capture enemy nobles when possible. Aside from avoiding the taboo, capturing nobles was very lucrative because their family or liege would usually be willing to pay ransom to have them back. There was a cottage industry of mercs who basically did just that- and the tool they used to do the task? A mancatcher. Basically, the same weapon as what Throt is using, but with a longer handle (it's a polearm used with both hands.). Used correctly, you'd grab your abductee around the neck and they wouldn't be able to strike you because you are just out of reach of a sword. I imagine Throt carried his to help him capture test subjects.

they'll probably be added with Thanquol in game 3. Thanquol mainly rose to greatness during the end times and has strong ties to Verminlords (most Verminlord varients are end times units) so I'd expect him to come with a fair few end times Skaven units
I'm glad we didn't have to wait till WH3 to get this fat bastard. I felt the skaven didn't have enough monster units. It feels like almost every patch the rats are getting some new toys. No complaints though. Since Ikit got here I'm a skaven main now :P
