another fun fact: the purple slime that hurts you actually returned but as green as seen in techno legacy and even appears as the way to damage brak eggman!
Honestly, how so many people prefer 2.1 to 2.2 with the latter being so divisive is beyond me, 2.2 just feels like it has so much more depth to it while still retaining the option to take the straightforward route present in the previous version. Don't get me wrong, I completely respect their opinion and think it's valid, I just don't get it myself.
I've been playing SRB2 since at least 2.0, and while I'm not a fan of Sev and Kart Krew's hostile takeover of Sonic Team Jr. I just don't see what other older SRB2 fans see in 2.1 over 2.2. The best answer I seem to get by asking people is that the rough, scrappy-looking design of the game was part of the charm of it being a DOOM mod. SRB2 2.2 to them is too generic and clean, which is fine if that's their opinion, but they often don't seem to give 2.2 credit where it's deserved.

Been a while since i last saw this. The levels for SRB2 are getting interesting and creative
There is another difference between v2.1 and v2.2’s Techno Hill, is that the textures seen at Act 2 were not included in Act 1 or Act 3 during v2.1.
using Doom's Level Limitations in 2.1 is absolutely great. 2.2 is even better

Yes, i don’t know why people are not playing v2.2 instead v2.1, v2.2 is also known as the Definitive and Best way to play SRB2.
