  • How to use your hands in dressage is a short video to demonstrate the different ways you can use your hands. Kirstin shows what the hands look like from beside the horse and also with the use of a GoPro you can see from the riders position. Kirstin shows 9 different ways you can use the hand to create softness, bend, roundness, half halts and to stop the horse drifting. How to use your hands in Dressage will give you a few different techniques to try next time your horse is stiff, falling in, falling out or bracing against you. Kirstin reminds riders that the reins transmit a message to the horse's mouth, not to be used in a hard or rough way. The arms should stay relaxed and elastic, the fingers alive with a sensitive touch.

    You are great! I wish I wasn't at the other side of the world (Canada) and could take a lesson with you. This is so far the simpliest and explanation of hand aid and half halt.
