what's the unit of measurement used in the circuit diagram?
    MM or Sq. MM??

    Hey Joe, great videos.
Question: is it possible for my fuel pump to hum (as if working) if the wires on the pump’s new harness were incorrectly paired?
Question: can I match up the new harness wires to those of the old one’s by pairing them based on the shared letter found on the backside of each of their cases?
    Thank you !

If you mean that we're wired in correctly I think that's what you mean I will initially the car started if I understand correctly so they could not have been wired incorrectly but you have to try to jump the relay to see if the fuel pump comes on

Ok, I bought a new fuel pump. The pump came with a new harness (connector) with 4 wires coming out the backside. So, I cut off the harness that was installed during production and then spliced the new harnesses wires to the existing wires for this connector.
My fuel pump didn’t come with any wiring diagrams, but the new harness wires were the same colors as my existing wires so I assumed this was the correct way to match them up. It wasn’t.
I posted pics of the old harness and the new one and a Facebook friend directed me to switch up wire mating somewhat. I did. The pump began humming when I engage the fuel pump relay by having it constantly run.
I have access to my fuel pump at this moment because I secured the seating of the pump better after learning of a tab under the fuel pump’s flange that needs alignment with the tank notch. My fuel pressure is not where it needs to be and I thought this “seatment” might be to blame.
I’m just wondering if I connected those harness wires to the existing wires correctly. Aren’t there a couple of grounds? Or power wires in that 4 pronged harness? What if I have them backwards? Because the fuel pump is super loud now when running.
How do I connect those wires properly without any directions?
One video I watched said that you can match the harness wires with my old harness wires based on the letter assigned at the back of the connector case.
Like Old Harness “A” wire pairs with New Harness “A” wire.
I’m sorry if I explained more than was necessary for you to understand and I hope you can advise

@@atlnchristy p you can find the wiring diagram if you go to Google and put the make and model of your car and wiring diagram for fuel pump circuit now there are quite a few grounds from that you should be able to figure out how to connect it properly usually there are about four connections if you put them backwards chances are it won't work or it'll short please get back to me after you download and it's a free wiring diagram from Google

@@Joeelectronicschematicsforauto ok, I believe I have the correct diagram. But, it’s not exactly what you said.
I’ve watched a ton of your schematic diagram videos that map the electrical/grounding paths of various automotive units.
The one I found for my 05 Colorado is labeled: “Fuel Controls - Fuel Pump Controls”
If this isn’t what you’re referencing let me know and I will search again. Thank you again for your help ❤️

@@atlnchristy looking at the schematic that I have the computer turns on the control side of the relay and the load side goes through a fuse and then a gray wire to the fuel pump and the black wire to ground so one side of the fuel pump goes to the fuse and the other side goes to ground what you could do is measure the voltages at the relay on the outside see if you get 12 volts on the relay going to the fuel pump
