I watched your first video on lost caverns draft And I was so surprised that you didn't Esteem blue more! 😅 Then I saw this updated guide and there's blue! I only know that blue was good because i've been Playing a Budget bounce deck with glyph and siren. Thank you for this guide I will be playing lots of limited ixalan As I have returned to m t g after a two year break And need those cards for arena!
Nicolai brother thank you! I've watched both of the guide videos, first draft 6-3 RB, second 7-3 WBlue, ive literally imrpoved a lot in drafting after your guides, thanks again! #Lost&Found
Dang man growing like a weed almost 30K subs. I was here when you had 3k subs and I knew that you would pop off if you kept posting. Some of the best limited guides out there and the way you explain the content is excellent.!!!
Love your stuff, and thanks for the update. I have found some success/trophy decks with caves. They have all been a version of BWU where one is the splash. To make the cave payoffs work, I have been using forgotten monument to cast any color splash I want or just make sure my mana is good in general. Gargantuan leech on turn 4 is great, and sinuous Benthisaur is great pick 2 of 4-5 later in the game. Any thoughts on that? Have you or anyone else tried that sort of deck?
i've been ending up in red basically every draft and having a lot of 4-3 and 5-3s. for some reason red is just really easy to get into and very consistently average
It's interesting how polarizing Orzhov seems to be in this format. I've seen others rank it near the bottom (that was my intuition as well but I'm a Plat level scrub). Someone else recommended to play it as a good-cards deck like Simic instead of going in on sacrifice, not sure if that works better. Also funny that dinosaurs are expected to be mid, yet most of my draft decks have landed on dinos and most games (and losses) with those decks have been RG mirrors. But again, I'm not good and exclusively free-to-play, so small sample size.
The power of an archetype can also be dependent on what a particular player likes to play and what cards they prioritize. I think White Black often can play in that good cards role, but I do think it is the best home for cards like Dusk Rose Reliquary so I like giving the nod to some minor sacrifice themes as well. It’s not really an, “all in on sacrifice,” type deck in my experience. More like minor synergies that you can go for. I also think everyone’s experience of the archetypes and their power level is influenced by what they’ve found success with or what they’ve noticed in the decks they’ve played against.
It’s often a solid color pair, especially when formats have a lot of splashing. The colors just don’t tend to get good cheap removal, which can be a weakness. In Zendikar Rising it was one of the best color combos, and Quandrix (another name for Simic) was great in Strixhaven.
I actually won my first draft tournament using a simic deck that focused on explore (which is a great mechanic in any case). The merfolk that becomes unblockable when you explore won me so many games.
@@NicolaiBolas Yeah not saying its always bad, just saying on average it feels worse, maybe thats just me though. Probably shouldnt have said always lol
I feel like Simic's problem is that it just didn't receive a lot of payoffs this time. There are many explore enablers (including map tokens) in the format but I can only think of like 3 payoffs at the moment, one of which is the signpost. That signpost is plenty good though if you get multiple copies On the other hand, I would rank Gruul higher as it has many solid payoffs in common. I think the best midrange deck against all these aggro decks is a dinosaur deck with multiple copies of Armored Kincaller

It's fun how the meta changes over time. Day 1 on Arena I earned my first 7-x trophy on a 4 color caves & bombs deck
The evolving meta as people figure things out is definitely a fun aspect of Limited!
I was really hoping to see this video while the quick draft is LCI! Thank you for doing this updates!!
You are welcome! I’m glad you liked the video!
Getting ready for my first draft in 5 years and could not allow myself to go 0-3 lol thank you
Drafted izzet agro with 4 copies of Oaken Sires after a 5month break on arena, thanks!
Thank you for your efforts in making and sharing this video.
You are welcome!

i havent played orzhov yet but i will say that bartolome del presidio is ridiculous and can win games by itself if it goes unanswered

just went 7-1 simic explore low curve flyers
I feel like Simic is always one of the worst color combinations every format... feels bad
