    These investment bankers and mutual funds peddle mutual funds regularly. I understand all investments carry some risk, but mutual funds are typically considered a safer investment than purchasing individual stocks. But if I can make more return on investment with individual stock at a given time, should I still choose mutual fund?

    • @JosephMartin7226
      @JosephMartin7226 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, My biggest irk with ETFs is the lack of optimisation . Large changes in any given stock in the ETF can drag your portfolio down. But in general, ETF or not, I think the stock market isn't showing any sign of slowdown. Investing now instead of parking money in the bank would make thousands of dollars in ROI if done right

    • @thomasbetts01

      True, but individual stocks could tank too, remember? You just need a seasoned hand to guide you. I have greatly grown more than 75% this year already, though my FA has advised we diversify going forward. Knowing how to diversify is what gives you an edge.

    Almost everyone, including the media, is anticipating a market catastrophe, and as a result, many are turning a blind eye to the opportunities in the market. I began investing in stocks and Defi earlier this year and it is the best choice I've ever made. My portfolio is rounding up to almost a million and I have realized that when a stock makes it to the news, chances are you’re quite late to the party, the idea is to get in early on blue chips before it becomes public. There are lots of life changing opportunities in the market, maximize it.

    I see the rising interest rate as a very big problem, as more investors will definitely pull out more money from the Stock market. This might have worked when I was still invest-ing with a couple thousand dollars, but it is more difficult now to decide whether to pull out more than $365k from my port-folio. Public pension systems in American are a trillion or more in unfunded liability, all based on who you talk to. In Kentucky we are considered in the bottom three worse funded pension system in America. This is not as they claim from taxpayers not contributing enough. Right now, taxpayers are contributing 30% of salary to public sector employees, 17% and more than the obligation. It's from overpromising, overgenerous, enhanced unfunded benefits, greed, abuse and corruption. It would be interesting to hear from experts as to the impact another severe market correction would have on public pension systems.

    They say bear and hyper-bear financial channels are more profitable because no one is ever disappointed when they are wrong, no matter how long they are wrong for. Meanwhile the hyper bears presenters still make money whilst investors are missing out on the bull cycle we are currently experiencing. Yes, the long term picture is not great, and this is the end of a 40+ yr secular bull market, but never under estimate how long the Fed., Gov., etc can kick the can for. I've been watching this channel since it started - when it was refreshingly different - but now Adam's own personal ad nauseum doom and gloom script is so repetitive, with very little counter point , it's hardly worth watching anymore. At least Lance is honest and balanced (brutally honest, to the point of actually admitting he only does these interviews for the income potential and exposure).
    I understand that the Wealthion business model is designed to create enough anxiety and uncertainty to have you running for their "Wealthion endorsed financial advisors" of course, but a few more people like Michael Howell (who explains liquidity cycles, for example) might make the channel much more balanced in the process, as well as much more educational (which is your stated mission goal).

    @9:20
    This comparison begs context even if it plays out as described. In terms of “Lagging”, I would say trading in the late 90’s “Lags” trading in the early 20’s by : fees, liquidity, news, and most notably the speed at which information travels.
    I remember my Father getting quotes in percentage points and attempting to understand “spread” as a kid.
    In addition to these nuances, there’s a fairly significant amount of traders who have kept most of their powder dry in order to short at the top.
    There are economies within an economy. Further, markets can remain irrational for much longer than we expect.
    Your guest knows all of these things and has benefited from his approach to managing risk…. With that said, chuckling at Berkshire being down 11% from a local high without mentioning where it stands compared to the local low, let alone a historical one,
    This Texan sees that Texan and thinks humility is hypocritical in the overall interview.
    Edit: for transparency sake, I am a proprietary trader by necessity not by choice, and yesterday I contacted my nephew to ask about his student loan debt and rate, because I preached a trade school and he’s nearing completion of becoming a Pilot. After learning about his situation, I parked 96k @ 5.3 for 5/2024. I support the Supreme Court’s ruling, even though it will likely cost me 150k, but I will be Damned before my Nephew graduates into this job market with a $700 monthly vig payment.

    The retail housing market needs a shock that will instill some fear in resellers. Right now, the market is frozen and sellers are discounting 1%, whereas a realistic discount after a 50% price rise in 2 years is more around 10-15% That will not happen until we see fear in their eyes and that either takes a long time of weakness or an economic shock.
