Had 101 posters on my wall when I was 12 ! Now 47 , still cool fresh , musicianship. I was 203 in yr fan club , now you have millions !!! And well deserved !!
Howard was my gateway into electronic music. To this day, adore him. He puts on such an amazing show. I saw him at the Forum in LA in the mid 80s.My 13 year old mind was blown.
I really enjoyed that. I bought the single when it was released back in the 80s and even though Im a MASSIVE Gary Numan fan I always enjoyed Jones' music. A great keyboard player.
takes me right bk to the 80s (love it ) we had the best music from spandau ballet to culture club and queen and duran duran , alison moyet , ultravox , abc i could go on and on whooooooooooo and of course sexy nick kershaw mmm
This is amazing Howard, was great seeing you at Canada's Wonderland in the 80's your still an amazing performer as always and love your dj sets on Absolute 80's Uk station.
xoxxobob I always misheard what he sung in this as a kid, I thought it was "When the fear goes on shine it all and the fear goes on to nothing" and why is it called Pearl in the Shell when it's hardly in the lyrics. A shame it's a better song bar the poor diction.
There's hundreds of thousands of synth cover versions on TH-cam, yet here is the real thing with derisory viewing numbers. Algorithms, aren't they great?!?
Marty Moose completely agree! I had the G8, wow what a tool; sadly here the brass and sax sound more like a shrill A1 synthesis DX21 than a fat warm Roland.
Modern Synths are very good, do everything apart from cook one food :) But nothing with come close to dynamic punch of analoge.. I bought a Roland JX8P, PG800, TR505, TB303, about 30 years ago! Cost a fortune for spare parts But!!! I'll divorce the wife before I part with my Synths..

I'd like to see Howard collaborate on an album together with Vince Clarke. It would be amazing.

Hi
Where is the Jupiter 8!?!?! ;O)
He tried to tour with one a few years, it broke and an audience member had to fetch theirs. They're too unreliable to depend on for touring.
What mic is he using, anyone an idea...?
Nice Sound, but the "old" Gear was better ...but hey, thats the future!:)
no needs for analog gear anymore.
Which is ironic given how many analogue synths are being released now.
Marty Moose completely agree! I had the G8, wow what a tool; sadly here the brass and sax sound more like a shrill A1 synthesis DX21 than a fat warm Roland.
