- I made a log deadfall trap today. The trigger system is really sensitive! the slightest touch and it will go off! It requires some work, but it will pay of in they end. I hope this will inspire people to make this one day.

Wow that was a cool trap, i think i will try to make one, nice work and great craftsmanship.
/NS.
Our 4th grade class read The Sign of the Beaver in class. The main character made a deadfall trap. This video was very helpful in showing us what it is and how it works! Thanks
Thanks Bill =) I really like trap dynamics. I have been practising a lot these 6 months. Have a great Sunday bro =)
Nick
VERY nice!! Awesome job man. With all of these new traps you have shown me, I have a lot of things to try. You always have excellent videos Nick. I am very much looking forward to the next one.
its very good way to explain each piece and perfect you better every day, congratulations myself have added to my favorites list
Very good video and simple to construct, thanks . the trigger was very simple but effective.
Yet another awsome trap video , thanks nick. I really look foward to the next one to see what you come up with .
More simple / basis than the old TRIGGER FOUR ! Thanks .
I love this trap. I can down size it, down to rat catching size, add some elastic on the fall end and get the closing speed necessary to keep them from jumping the drop. This one you could loop a heavier , stronger band to the log and increase the drop speed of the log, as well. I see lots of possibilities, here. Thanx for posting this...
Thanks Cristian, It's a straightforward trigger and really touchy. If someday you are going to make this. I would like to see a video if you have the time of course. Have a great week my friend
Nick
Thanks I am glad you liked it =) it requires some work, but it is real sensitive.
Greetings from Holland, Nick

Excellent explanation Nick! Simple and effective, thanks for the tip! Great video!
Good Sunday
Cristian
Yeah that also would be a great option =) unfortunately over that place we don't have any pigs, thanks for the comment I appreciate it.
Greetings from Holland, Nick
Thanks bro, I am glad you liked it. I appreciate the comment.
Have a good weekend
Nick
If you really want to get your axe close to razor sharp you need a good quality one. Then I would buy Japanese water stones with diffident grids, it will cost some, but it last a live time. They do the job on the axe and the knife
Nick
Good thinking man. I enjoyed your creativity. It did seem a little slow but it's a sweet setup. I believe that playing around with this trap it could be sped up a lot. I think. It was the length of the cordage that slowed it down maybe. None the less you have a very good ideal. It's like a koolyumka with a twist. Thumbs up man.
Yeah your absolutely right! The axe is way to small and the quality is not so good either. I am planning to get a new one. Could be anything that runs into it. The trigger is really sensitive. I would bet if a small bird lands on it, it will go of. You could make the trap on a smaller scale or without the bottom log. To safe some time and energy =) Have a great week, thanks for the comment my friend
Nick
I love deadfall traps they can be scaled to any size animal
Thanks Kevin =) I really appreciate your comment brother. I am still thinking what kind of trap snare I will make this weekend. I am glad you enjoyed it, have a great week my friend
Nick
Awesome concept, and well put together!! Truly an excellent trap for larger game, should you ever experience a SHTF scenario and need to hunt and trap for food! 👍
I can't type Portuguese =) but I know Perfeita a armadilha =) thanks for the kind words. I hope one day you can try this out. If you run into any problems please let me know.
Greetings from Holland, Nick
Cool trap. Thanks for the video
Great demonstration, great trap thanks for sharing.
Hey Dude, great video! It seams a Rambo movie!
Regards
Thanks for the nice comment =) I really appreciate it my friend.
Nick
deadlock comes down to slow any animal would get away I challenge you the videotape an animal being caught
Easily sorted by using a bungee cord.
I am glad you liked it my good friend. It takes some effort, but the end result is there. I would like to have your address. I want to send you something soon =) because I learned so much from you over this past year.
Nick
You would love Chris Gilliam's channel. He stabbed a beaver in one vid, got bite by a fox in another. Cool ass channel
Thank you my good friend=) I am glad you liked it
Nick
Yes. It works. It just caught four minutes of your life. Now hurry and get away just like any critter walking around the log toy.
Impressive. Thanks for sharing.
Good trap, great music!
I just use a diamond sharpener for my axe, but my axe has cheap steal! The next thing on my list will be a good quality axe. For my knife I just use a Japanese water stone and some oil and stropping of course that's really important to! It really depends on what kind of steel you have to sharpen something proper. I am glad you liked the video my friend =)
Nick
Thanks for the comment Anton =)
Greetings from Holland, Nick
this guy is the ultimate amish dude
Fantastic Job! Thanks for sharing!
You put some funnel fencing around that and a little more weight on the dead fall log and you got a killer there boys. Dont forget the kill spikes either, gotta have them. They won't suffer or get away.
Thank you my good friend. I appreciate the comment =)
Happy weekend
Nick
very good nick, you have good skills my friend...
..bill
This won't work! Maybe on sticks and sloths or animals that have really bad reflexes...
Nicely done!
Great job!
Your welcome =) I hope this will work out. Very easy to make =)
Nick
Yeah you are right, you can just reuse the parts =) actually it doesn't takes really long to build, filming it and explaining make it looks like that, it's straight forward and really sensitive. Thanks for the comment my friend and congrats again on your views on your youtube channel
Nick
I'm Hmong and we have similar trap that's very effective trapping animals that follow a trail.
Yeah it really is a simple trigger, but it's really sensitive. I would bet if a small bird lands on it, it will go of. See you tomorrow my friend
Nick
Thanks nick I'll send the address by MP, also learn a lot from you, thank you nick
Great job.
Awesome as ever👍
Thanks Ian =) Haven't seen you for a while here on youtube. I hope your doing ok m8. I appreciate the comment

Great one mate
Great video.
Perfeita a armadilha! Com certeza uma maneira interessante de se capturar algo.
Thanks I really appreciate the comment NS. I hope the building goes swiftly for you. If you run into any problems please let me know. Thanks for watching my friend
Nick
I don't see why people are naysaying this guys trap and saying it's slow. I think it would do fine.
nice! Liked it!
Love the music
Awesome video ur axe cut that log like butter !! Can you recommend a sharpener that can sharpen axe and knife ?
Great video man, thanks for taking the time to share it. Subscibed
Nice video!...
Hey Geza,
Yes it's very simple, and very sensitive to. I appreciate the comment my friend =)
happy hétvége =)
Nick
very nice deadfall
Awesome brother! I will make this soon! Thanks for the great videos!
Add some spikes to the falling log then you have a decent trap.
Nice video. Well made deadfall. Yes a lot of work, but if used near a permanent camp it will keep you fed. For those that hate your videos just keep in mind they will not be in competing with you for food as the will starve. Ignorance has its own rewards so to speak.
very good!!!!
Thank you my son, when T S H T F this kind of stuff is good to know, bit energetic for Grandpa but hey, that's what the kids are for ? Never ceases to amaze me what they can do when they are hungry!!! Good luck.
BuckGreywolfe Roger that and thank you!
Nice video!!
Hello mate ,good demo , atb Martin
I am glad you liked it my friend, are you Dutch?
Nick
Thanks Shifty I am glad you liked it my friend
Nick
great vid, thanks!
Real good.
well done! goed gedaan!
Good video
Love it mate, brilliant!
thats a huge contraption and huge effort when a smaller, simple trap would be way more effective.
Think pig, deer, or coyote. Nice video.
BuckGreywolfe unser kleine christian welte ein reiter werden
no problem \but can you recommend a sharpener that works on knife and knife?
I thought you really didn't leave me, it turns out you left me
awesome thanks brother
Cooles video! Gruß Marius
Thanks Odd, I really appreciate the comment. I have seen this trigger in an old picture one time. It requires some work though, but I like to make them. When you are making this make sure your support stick is absolutely solid and the trigger system is light and solid to. The lighter it is the quicker the weight will fall down. You could also make it on a smaller scale. Thanks for watching my friend.
Nick
He is strong!
you are dutch right-great video by the way
Thanks it takes some effort to make though =) have a good weekend
Nick
it catches only sticks :D
Nice trap m8.
I'm surprised at all th dead head coments , this is a good traditional trap...if this is not your thing then watch
+Frank E:-- Yeah Frank they can go watch the Hitler Rants. Laff themselves to death!! Good old You Tube!!
The comments are also for critisism and all I've seen is constructive criticism and that trap was far to slow to kill anything
Can you explain your bait stick or was it just a treadle?
Thanks m8 =) I am glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
Nick
Nice trap, what's the song you used ?
Boa.gostei. pegar capivara...
nice
where is the bait placed?
Yeah it has to be heavy, you could also use a light one with a fork stick on the end, and hook it behind the last support pole. It's indeed some work, but you can make it on a smaller scale as well. Thanks for watching
Nick
cool
Thanks for the comment I really appreciate it, make the trigger as light as possible! and know how to tie the constrictor knot.
Greetings from Holland, Nick
What do you hope to catch???
