it's going to be a few days before I can confirm if this helps but I feel more confident that I will discuss all of the important things to discuss in session zero because I have a set of notes written down that I plan to have with me at the time pointing out what things to talk about and take note of.
Funny enough my current campaign also has a theme of home, one was a soldier that went awol, another's fell to devil's, our rogue's tribe was destroyed, the bard's family was killed and they were kidnapped, one was a criminal and exiled from their home, the only one who didn't have to leave their home lost it by the end of the campaign as it was destroyed by the villain.
4;55 because people often try and change whatever "gate' they come through and often not for the best. btw take a shot every time he calls it selfish lol in the span of like 30s way to sell that point.
