Round 9,ref saved fury, big time. The longest 8 count in history, i think it was something like 19 seconds, then the bell. Thats 79 seconds to recover, plus whatever few seconds he managed to piddle away at the start of round 10. He did show great fighting heart to stay competitive for the last 3 rounds, don't think anyone can question that, but he clearly lost. He needs two things to beat usyk, better fitness than he's ever had, i don't think that's achievable, and go with much more of those upper cuts to the body. They were really hurting usyk, but he used them sparingly. Forget the showboating and flicking, non scoring jabs, go to the body. Can't see it happen though, usyk learns from every fight, not invincible, and not elusive either, but his fitness and ringcraft should see him through.

This is about the 30th time I've had to mention it online since this bout:
There as no 'Standing 8-Count'. in fact, I also say this phrase before remembering that THERE ARE NO STANDING *8 COUNTS anymore.
He didn't get a 'standing-8'. He was knocked down. Whenever a fighter is only being held up by the ropes it's a 'knockdown'. He got the Referee's 10 count.
This is something FOR the Referee. It is NOT a 'mini-game' or a 'speed game' and it does NOT go by a chronological timer but is FOR THE REFEREE's convenience so that the Referee can have sufficient time to assess.
In this particular incident the referee did not yell out the words "nine" and 'Ten" and I'm not even sure there is any actual rule that a referee even has to sound out the actual count verbally.
How DID the referee help Tyson? That was just about the FASTEST ever interjection and knockdown call I've ever seen and go and compare that to Panicky Pete Referee in Dubois vs AJ to see how AJ had to REALLLLY be hung on ropes getting two solid blows before Pete finally called it a knockdown.
BTW the Referee's 10 count (not timer, not 10 seconds) isn't usually considered the entire time including cleaning off the gloves, bringing them back to the center and then the exact moment the Referee does the 'continue' hand gesture. It's 10-count to assess.
There was no Standing-8 and there is no such thing anymore. I understand, I find myself calling something a 'Standing 8' because I'm old and grew up with it. 'Standing 8' was removed from most all the boxing orgs (that I know of?) for about 20 years now I think.

I've watched the first fight at least 15 times I love it. Usyk won that fight easy 7-5 maybe 8-4. Your bangon Usyk had to work very hard , he worked and pushed Fury most of the fight. I loved it when Usyk got Fury in a head lock and showed him off to the crowd round 9. As you say , Fury is not as fit , I think it's possible Usyk comes in around 230. Usyk is gonna knock Fury out this time , if the ref is straight , aswell as the WBC judge. Catman 17 win . Thanks for the breakdown , I enjoyed it 👍💥🥊

I just checked Fury's Boxrec. He was 15.75 lbs lighter for Usyk than for Ngannou. Considering the size of the man, and the fact that he did look overweight against Francis, losing 15.75 lbs over the course of 7 months, which included 2 full training camps, under the supervision of a nutritionist and a S&C coach, is not going to affect his punch resistance.
Will coming in heavier for the rematch help him? That depends what his game plan is going to be. If he's true to his word and boxes exactly the same as he did in the first fight, then being heavier won't benefit him and is more likely to be a handicap. It will slow his movement and could affect his stamina negatively. If he intends to be more aggressive and try to bully Usyk, then it might help him do that.

he's not fit enough. Someone who only gets fit for fights can't compete with a full time athlete who has been doing the right thing all his life.

Well he can compete, even with Usyk. To a point. His size can be an advantage but if he doesn't stop Usyk early he may gas. And this is heavyweight boxing so any outcome is possible.

It's probably almost impossible for FURY to beat USYK on point's. I'd say he has to get the knockout. AJ couldn't do it twice & dubois couldn't stop USYK either. Can FURY do it???? I hope so🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🥊🥊

I felt no need to see a rematch as I had it a pretty obvious Usyk win. It's not just that Usyk wins 8 of the rounds and add another point for a knockdown but that the 'story' of the entire fight is Usyk deciding, Usyk carrying out the win on Usyks clock. This includes Usyk (as he often does) letting Fury exhaust himself for the 3 rounds and then Usyk culiminating it all in a winning run to the end.
Something to consider: the '10 point MUST system' was originally made to replace a '3-point' concept where many complained there would be no way to score more for (example) a fighter absolutely acing a round by a huge margin vs scoring a very very close round.
The dumbest thing is that judges just simply made it a '3 point' system. That said, IF there was ever a legit round to score '10-7 it was Usyks 9th. That wasn't (example) Zhang and Parker are in a relatively even round but Zhang knocks him back in a kind of flash 'weight-driven' knockdown BUT Parker is up and at him.
That was Usyk banging him pillar-to-post over and over and yes it could well have been stopped.
Had a judge scored that 10-7 I don't think anyone would have complained.

I'm absolutely not a Fury fan because of his behavior outside the ring and I don't think he can master Usyk due to a co-ordination and skills gap. He can hurt Usyk though and i have put $$ on Fury just in case he catches Usyk and stops him - the wager is to assuage my hurt butt if he does win 😂
Btw, would love to see a video of great British HW - perhaps starting with the much beloved Our 'Enry ?

It's crazy how Usyk has a better resume than Fury and AJ. Kind of embarrassing for them. Hes beaten AJ, Fury, and Dubois... all arguabley in their prime years.. and handled them with ease.

I dont put much stock in what the numbers of his weight were and are
Im more concerned with how ACCLIMATISED he is at WHATEVER weight he is at.
He looked very new at that weight back in may. It looked like a fat camp. His body looked soft and soggy. Just didnt look right. Totally agree with GMAN when he made that observation. I was thinking the same thing myself
Even when fury was talking in interviews. His SKIN hanging off his face. All loose and saggy
Im glad he is coming in at a COMFORTABLE weight this time. He needs to be comfy and he needs to get Usyks respect within the first minute or 2
In MY opinion. He needs to give Usyk something to be concerned about. Because last time . He had NOTHING to be concerned with until round 4

It’s been another fat loss camp for fury, very bad idea ballooning up again, can’t perform in the gym when you’re having a fat loss camp. I disagree that coming in heavier is a good thing, I agreed with Shane mcguigans assesment that his feet will be too slow and he will be even easier to hit, it may help his punch resistance but I still think it’s a negative. I think Usyk stops him late if fury is 270+. I saw Fury at Joshua Dubois and he looked about 300 pounds

Flabs can win n Usyk can win..so much talk about Flab's condition ..his legs, his punch resistance yada yada yada..thrs a 3rd factor here..the trilogy.the 3rd match will be mega money..boxing has a history of corruption..i mean the first fight in no way was a split decision..also anybody else n the ref woulda stopped the fight in the 9th so no consistency there..n quite Frankly as much as i think Turki has reinvigorated boxing..i dont trust him..i def don't trust Frank n Flabs n we live in a smoke n mirrors world.unless it's undeniably one sided ..usyk will need a KO..a Flabs loss diminishes a potential AJ fight ..so for the money men a Flabs victory is undoubtedly more desirable.who knows how this will end..i guess its wait n watch
