Yodel well, and your pickings swell
And you play so hard for the folks in Hell
    And they can't see nothing
    Nothin' at all
Chains to the legs, bolts to the ground
You boys ain't leaving 'til this crowd turns around
    They don't hear nothing
    Nothing at all
The colder the night, the hotter the lights
Your sweat drips down and the crowd starts fist-fights
    They hear nothing
    Nothing at all
But the air on stage is burning our lungs
And we're all going deaf from the beating drums
And you can't see a thing for all the blood
    And sweat in our eyes
Yeah we played 'til we died, and now we're all dead,
But the man says "You gotta get up there again
And you can't come down 'til the brimstone turns to ice"
But the air on stage is burning our lungs
And we're all going deaf from the beating drums
And you can't see a thing for all the blood
    And sweat in our eyes
Yeah we played 'til we died, and now we're all dead,
But the man says "You gotta get up there again
And you can't come down 'til the brimstone turns to ice"
And you can't sing a note for the dust in your throat
We're running on empty and the bands lost all hope
    'Cause they hear nothing
    Nothing at all
Welcome to hell, ladies and gent's
You sinned and fell, no time to repent
    And you can't hear nothing
    Nothing at all
    No you can't hear nothing
    Bm
    Nothing ... at ... alllll...

Damn what's the story behind this

    • @Th3C4ndyMan

Jasin Mac year old but the story is one of them if not all “sold their soul/s” to beelzebub crown prince of hell and patron of musical arts. And how they are eternally indentured to him to play but no one truly hears them for what they try to convey.

Thanks. That's still such a damn good song and now I can see how that fits.

Jasin Mac beautiful song, definitely an artist that has delved though, not directly promoting Abrahamic views but if you delve into the past and roots of theology it’s a tale old as time throughout all cultures and religions despite variance and interpretation. Honestly amazed that you responded so quickly but I guess that’s the beauty and rot that social media and the internet has brought us, cheers fellow seeker.

Lol- the song is about one of the first gigs we played at this tiny pub in the country. We only had about 30 mins worth of songs but needed to play two sets of at least an hour. We tried to get off stage and have a break after the first 30mins but the old lady running the place grabbed the lead singer by the arm and said “you’d better get up on that stage and fuckin play or you’re being getting paid”. Hahahah. Good times…
