Men should be able to drink whatever they like as well! Drinking something that doesn't taste good doesn't make someone more many. It just means they don't have the confidence to drink whatever they want because of stupid gender expectations.

Depends on how fast you drink them. If you pace yourself and spread them out throughout the day/night, you'll be fine. If you drink them in 1-2 hours, you better get acquainted with the toilet bowl and a hospital bed
I'm 28 and I LOVE Chartreuse. It is absolutely my drink of choice and has been since I was 20. I lived in Lyon for a short while, which is close to the region Chartreuse is produced, and my friends introduced it to me during the winter - we'd have a glass to warm up. It's definitely on the herbal/spicy side and if you drink it quickly, it's intense and it will make you gag. But if you sip it slowly, it will evaporate on your tongue and warm you up. It's delicious and I see it making a serious comeback in many cocktails - definitely not just an "old" drink!
I once took part in a Drunken Poker tourney (1 shot per winning hand) and the last two had 40+ shots each over 3-4 hours. Somehow I don't think anyone ended up in the hospital but the winner got mugged or lost his winnings on the few steps between the taxi and home.

I work at a high class bar and it isn’t uncommon to every weekend someone passes out. It is not a great party until something gets broken or someone’s get sh*tfaced. Periodt.

Like drinking beer, being the boss of a company or wearing pants. If I was a boss of a company, wearing pants and going to grab a beer after work.. nobody would say that I'm not woman enough or that I'm a lesbian. I would just be a woman in pants drinking beer. So why is a man in a pink shirt, drinking a cocktail with a little umbrella in it not man enough or gay? Because we still have a very narrow idea of manliness unfortunately. Drinks don't have a gender. A beer doesn't have XY chromosomes and a cocktail doesn't have XX chromosomes. There is also not a rule in nature that would suggest, that male creatures don't like the color pink or sweet drinks. On the contrary.. all humans run on carbohydrates.. we all love sugar.. even big lumberjack boys. They might pretend that they don't to fit the idea of a 'man'.. but they still run on sugar like everyone else.

I am French and when they brought out the Chartreuse I was so surprised ! It is a very strong drink and it is actually made by monks and the recipe has been kept a secret for centuries now. It is famous in the French Alpes but not known nationally. And yes it is very expensive a bottle is over 45$ but a lot of people love to take a shot of it during parties where I live.
The Asian-American girl that goes HARD doesn’t surprise me at all. One of my bffs in college was Korean-American and he was super active in the Asian American Association on campus and sometimes I’d tag along or come by right before our group of friends would do something, and the group was super friendly, they loved being around each other, went to youth group together and I had NO idea how WRECKED I’d be when they casually asked if I’d like to join them bar hopping. Omg, I could not keep up with even the smallest other girl.
@baerleon Have you ever been a bartender? It's not about laziness, it's about inefficiency. When you are trying to make drinks for 10 people at the same time, the person that just wants a shot is a life-saver. The person that wants something that has 10 ingredients slows down everyone's drink order. A proper bloody mary has 8-10 ingredients. You can make the mix earlier and have it ready, but you aren't going to do that for a Friday night crowd because barely anyone will order it and you'll waste it. I appreciate the girl saying she reads the room before she orders it at night because she's being considerate that the bartender is not going to have that prepped and it's going to be inefficient and inconvenient for everyone else waiting.
The tattooed bartender did an incredible job at naming the ingredients, so it makes sense she got the most right. Brown jacket had the most hilarious reactions.
I drink when I’m done with studying for the day or I’m bored and I have no work to do. It’s sort of like this is my reward for finishing an essay, or getting everything done, it’s something I look forward to.
haha same I just have a really high tolerance! I've gone into the double digits in terms of total number of beverages over a night and I have never had to be taken care of or had a hangover. I don't drink often though and I most of my binge drinking days were in college.

@@mothusiraseroka1808 Yes.. there are 'gendered' drinks out there. But that's my point. Our world is thankfully becoming more and more accepting of women doing traditionally 'male' things. Like drinking beer, being the boss of a company or wearing pants. If I was a boss of a company, wearing pants and going to grab a beer after work.. nobody would say that I'm not woman enough or that I'm a lesbian. I would just be a woman in pants drinking beer.
So why is a man in a pink shirt, drinking a cocktail with a little umbrella in it not man enough or gay? Because we still have a very narrow idea of manliness unfortunately.
Drinks don't have a gender. A beer doesn't have XY chromosomes and a cocktail doesn't have XX chromosomes. There is also not a rule in nature that would suggest, that male creatures don't like the color pink or sweet drinks. On the contrary.. all humans run on carbohydrates.. we all love sugar.. even big lumberjack boys. They might pretend that they don't to fit the idea of a 'man'.. but they still run on sugar like everyone else.

Like having a drink in a comfortable environment, it doesnt matter if you're a guy or a girl it was made for humans not genders. Like that lawyer student said she doesn't drink her beer on a 1st date situation because shes had some judgy looks or the lady with the Bloody Mary she 1st analyses the scene before she order but in their own comfortable places they order it, as would the lumberjack with his daiquiri.
We just need to realise our privilege though, the privilege of having an open mind. I assume you're based in a pretty liberal area where a woman wearing pants/pantsuits and drinking a beer is seen as pretty normal or boss. I would like to believe I also live in a liberal area but I just know that if my female boss invited me for drinks and her 1st drink was a strong beer, I would change my perception of her, for me in a positive way, I would see her as someone who doesn't care what people think and she's pretty cool with guys but I know most people wouldn't perceive their female boss ordering a strong beer as positive.
And I guess that's because we're in a huge melting pot of cultures and generations. It's difficult to make everyone happy.

I am French and when they brought out the Chartreuse I was so surprised ! It is a very strong drink and it is actually made by monks and the recipe has been kept a secret for centuries now. It is famous in the French Alpes but not known nationally. And yes it is very expensive a bottle is over 45$ but a lot of people love to take a shot of it during parties where I live.

One of my bffs in college was Korean-American and he was super active in the Asian American Association on campus and sometimes I’d tag along or come by right before our group of friends would do something, and the group was super friendly, they loved being around each other, went to youth group together and I had NO idea how WRECKED I’d be when they casually asked if I’d like to join them bar hopping. Omg, I could not keep up with even the smallest other girl.

@baerleon Have you ever been a bartender? It's not about laziness, it's about inefficiency. When you are trying to make drinks for 10 people at the same time, the person that just wants a shot is a life-saver. The person that wants something that has 10 ingredients slows down everyone's drink order. A proper bloody mary has 8-10 ingredients. You can make the mix earlier and have it ready, but you aren't going to do that for a Friday night crowd because barely anyone will order it and you'll waste it. I appreciate the girl saying she reads the room before she orders it at night because she's being considerate that the bartender is not going to have that prepped and it's going to be inefficient and inconvenient for everyone else waiting.

haha same I just have a really high tolerance! I've gone into the double digits in terms of total number of beverages over a night and I have never had to be taken care of or had a hangover. I don't drink often though and I most of my binge drinking days were in college.
