    Great video !! I am looking at getting a 85" Q6 or a 75" Q7 at around the same price point . Which would you recommend? I primarily use it for movies and occasionally watch sports and game.

    •  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! If you have the space I’d go with the Q6 for sports and movies!

      I am about at a 8' viewing distance. Would the 85' be a good choice ?

    I’m trying to decide between the TCL R646 that Walmart has on sale for $503 & the TCL Q7 which some reviews say that it has Terrible pre-calibration accuracy but at the same time it’s supposed to have the same processor as the QM8 & I heard that the R646 doesn’t show the Amazon video app in HDR so I wanted to know your honest opinion between the two TVs? Cause I am not a gamer I just want to be able to watch live news & my movies on my Fire tv stick & sometimes play my DVDs 📀

    •  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd stick with the TCL Q6 if you are not a gamer for sure!

    • @HowYouMove
      @HowYouMove 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for responding✊🏾I think that I’m gonna go with the Q7 because even though I am not a gamer I still would like to see what the picture would look like on my Panasonic dvd player when it’s connected to HDMI 2.1

    • @HowYouMove
      @HowYouMove 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Plus the Q7 has 120HZ & since the dvd 📀 video quality shows good on my TCL 55S425 which is 60Hz I can only imagine how it would look connected to the 2.1 HDMI

    Any screen flickering with game mode turned on???

    •  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not in my experience.

      Q7 owner here. Yes, but it depends. TCL game mode called Game Master can be manually turned off, auto, on. Freesync is tied to it. If you want to use Freesync, you have to turn Game Master on. I wish this weren't the case when connecting a PC for PC gaming. My gaming PC is connected to HDMI 1 with a HDMI 2.1 cable for 120 HZ gaming. I play Warzone. At first, I had the Warzone in-game settings set for fps limit in menu's for 60 Hz to save on resources when not in actual game play. This is then the flicker occurs cause the in-game 60 fps cap is causing the panel hertz to bounce around, say 59 - 64 hertz. The fix was to set fps to Unlimited . So if you do experience flickering, its probably due to in-game settings on the game your playing. So it is situational but can be fixed by finding what's causing it by the TV picture settings or game settings. If its a game that has a locked frame-rate or V-sync'd within the game, then no flickering. It only can be an issue on a game that supports variable refresh rates.

    Upgrading from a 10 y/o Samsung. Q7 or Qm8? I game, watch sports and we stream via an Amazon fire box.

      Q7 Owner here. I like it overall considering I got the 55-inch for $499. At first, I was disappointed with its upscaling of lower resolution content like cable boxes, DVD's, sports, etc. TCL put out a firmware update that seemed to improve the image processing for the better but its still not a equivalent spec'd Sony or Samsung. I have my PC hooked up to it for gaming its excellent for that. Some quirks with Freesync and its Game Mode but its fine. 4K content with Amazon Firestick works as expected. I'll say this, whatever TV you go with, try and get the 65-inch variant. The 65-inch size seems to be the standard nowadays with full features. The 55-inch version has some cut down features. This is true also for the 55-inch Hisense U8K I had. It didn't get as bright compared to the 65-inch version my relative has and its dimming zones are cut to almost half. Also the Hisense viewing angle washed out big time when you're not looking at centered (bad for sports). If the content you're watching primarily comes from a cable box that is in 720p or 1080p only, then I'd get a Sony or Samsung since their image upscaling is better. Sony 65-inch X90L would be good. I'm assuming you want a proper HDR TV with brightness over 1000 nits, Dolby Vision, local dimming, 120 Hz panel for gaming if you want to play at 120 fps, etc. If not, then something like Sony X80 line is good too.

    If TCL will do upscaling I would say bye2 Sony and Samsung. Just one move for TCL.

      Almost all modern TV's upscale well with 720p resolution or greater video. But if you're going to watch Golden Girls re-runs in 480p then go for the Sony.

      Q7 owner here. Not that I've noticed when watching sports which can be fast image changes. The picture can be a little choppy when watching 24 fps content like movies on DVD or streaming but can be fixed by turning up the Blur and Judder reduction settings in Motion settings. It can be set 0 - 10. Setting it to 5 seems to be a good setting for all content I'm watching.

      @CheapRedBoy how does this compare to the Qm7? Thanks

    • @CheapRedBoy
      @CheapRedBoy 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@dujuanjohnson5025 I don't have the newer QM7. I can't give hands on feedback. If prices are similar, I'd get the newer QM7 simply because it gets a lot brighter according to the spec sheet. This will make HDR content pop. I'd get the 65-inch version over 55. I've found out features are cut on smaller size screens under 65 inch like less local dimming zones.

      Q7 owner here. Yes it does. Make sure a HDMI 2.1 cable is being used and its connected to one of the two 4K 120 Hz labeled ports. Then go into TV settings Channels & Inputs > Inputs > HDMI Mode. You can set it to 1.4, 2.1 or auto. It defaults to auto and should switch but if it doesn't, then set to 2.1. You'll only see HDMI Mode when you access Settings while you're connected to an HDMI input. If you're accessing Settings from the Google Home Screen (not on HDMI connected device), then you won't see HDMI mode.

      @@CheapRedBoy how is the Q7? I’ve heard the QM7 is better and more worth it but it’s a little more expensive

    • @CheapRedBoy
      @CheapRedBoy หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tinocabral4201 I'm overall happy with it considering I got it for $499. But the QM7 is on sale right now for the same price on the TCL website and Amazon. Amazon Prime Day is tomorrow but prices may already be live on certain things. I haven't done in depth research on the newer QM7 but I'd be more inclined to get that one since it gets brighter and its now a mini-led panel which the Q7 isn't. Mini-led usually means more vibrant colors. From my personal experience the 65-inch version is the sku that has all the features. The smaller sized like 55-inch features are watered down and bigger sizes like the 75-inch might use a different panel type like IPS altogether instead of VA. So do you're research on the specific size screen you want.
