- salam~ Today we interviewed @Arianaxie, a Chinese girl who once studied in Indonesia. She talked to us about why she learned Indonesian, her impression of Indonesia before going there, and what changes she had after going there? She recommended Indonesian TV series and cities to us, such as Yogyakarta, Bandung, etc., and introduced Eid in Indonesia. Hope you like it~

Indonesia the country with lot islands, thats mean go to explore the nature, *beach, sea, mountain, forest at the 1st then culture 2nd *food, ethnic.. but when both of you in jakarta *why not go to 1000 island "pulau 1000 the closer island from Jakarta and easy to catch.. and lots alternatif island that you can choose

Ariana has an intimate knowledge of indonesian culture, such knowledge can be acquired only through experience. Props to her. Her indonesian accent is a bit Javanese, perhaps due to spending times in Yogyakarta.
Indonesia is one of the most beautiful country I ever been to, both diverse landscape and culture, full of excitements.
I personally love interacting with different ethnic groups and culture and Indonesia has plenty of them ranging from high/court cultures (Javanese, Balinese), tribal (Dayaks), trade/maritime (Malay), nomadic (Sakai) and many many more.
Their guest recommend some place to visit in Indonesia. But personally I only agree with Yogyakarta. The reason is, because they are chinese moslem who also content creator, it's more relatable if they filming about Indonesian moslem regions, life of people there while also enjoying the nature. My recommendation about places to visit are Yogyakarta, Bandung, and for Outside Java are Lombok/Padang.

as muslim, I recommend you to go to the muslim majority in Indonesia Province.
just because in muslim majority province you will easy to find a halal food.
while the 2 area mentioned -toraja and manado- are non muslim majority region. you need someone that guide you to find a halal food.
Mrs. Ariana's knowledge about Indonesia is fascinating. Thank you for the contents about muslim in many countries especially in China, Mr. and Mrs. Ma. I am still curious about the relationship between Hui Muslim with other minority ethnic groups since Yunnan is very diverse province with more than 20 ethnics. We are waiting for the next content. 😊
In Indonesia, every region or place is different in terms of language and food so it won't be boring and the customs are different.

You should go to Bukittingi, Bandung, and Malang to enjoy the cool mountains and the delicious food.
You could also go to Aceh.

Papua and maluku isnt that scary with terrorists attack, it just a small group who want their independence, they are basically support by usa and oceania who hates indonesia, its kinda complicated, the movement basically happens in Netherlands, they are not even indonesian, they are the people who don't want to live in indonesia but makes indonesia seems like a bad country. Also the teror just happens in a small area mostly in deep forest.

Go to Surakarta or Yogyakarta on the Eid day, or on the 1st of Muharram, and you will see a unique Islamic tradition there.

I still recomend you to visit Bali bcs all aspects of Bali is fascinating even for me as an Indonesian. You can pick places other than big cities or areas where tourists stay. Bali's infrastructure is made for tourism and all the locals are use to tourist

I live in North Maluku Indonesia. Here, many workers come from China because there are many nickel factories from China.
I thought Ariana was exaggerating about the death rituals of some of the tribes in Indonesia, but there is a documentary on TH-cam that shows a family that has both its parents inside their house, placed inside coffins for victors to meet, for over five years. Oldman watch should visit them next time he goes to Indonesia.

Overall Maluku is safe enough, but not the deep forest/ small town of Papua. Cities of Papua are relatively safe
