Return of the 25NC - Part 2: 25NC 3437 Kimblerley to Bloemfontein (29/30 June, 2023)

For four days in June 2023, a FarRail tour brought 25NC 3437 „Sianni“ of Steamnet2000 back on the main line. With an 80+ size group of photographers and a lot of problems to be solved by the organizers, it was a difficult tour. When everything worked, however, priceless moments were the reward.
Thank you to our train manager and the fabulous loco crew for making it happen. And to Bernd Seiler and Derick du Toit for not only doing the impossible but also considering all those many details - helpful supplies, great photo spots, and last but not least two very beautiful trainsets. They said it couldn't be done, but you did it!

great video, especially the drone shots!! How did you record the sound for the drone parts?

Thanks :) In some cases, like at the long bridge shot, I had the ground-based video camera record it (then threw away the video and used the audio as a soundtrack to the drone footage). For most of the drone shots in Part I though, sound has been created from existing snippets and synchronized with the wheels as much as I could. Took half a day of work per minute of video....
