It wasn't really about her being Korean or her eastern asian features, but being a foreigner who was so adorable and funny. She was also very humble and wasn't afraid to embrace the Filipino culture.
I do not believe these koreans are actually humble and kind enough to endorse the philippines, i think they are just using philippines content and it's people just to popularize themselves because they know that filipinos are easily deceived people and they use it as advantage as a fastest way to gain benefits of popularity they know it will viral around the world if filipinos liked them and that other people in other countries will be influenced by filipinos popularity on intetnet to like them as well and after this they gain popularity in korea too

This documentary of her life is impressive. Who could think to follow her steps from the beginning to now? Sandara Park is loved by the Filipinos, not because she is Korean but her bright personality that gives happiness to all. Korean influence or KPOP is not yet really that known on those days. I love her since SCQ days way back 2004.... The only Foreigner in a country that has a Title as a Pambansang Krung ng Pilipinas because of her witty and funny actions and she is also a filipino by heart that is why she is a beloved Celebrity till now, so down to earth and humble.
Sandara is loved not because she is a Korean. K-wave wasn't as popular during her stay in Philippine showbiz. It was because of her character that Filipinos loved her. It's her persona.

I'm one of Sandara's fans way back Star Circle Quest. I still remember her audition. We watched that show everyday. She really did capture the heart of Filipinos. She's part of my childhood and I am thankful for that!
Me personally, I like Sandara not because she's korean but because she is warm hearted person, down to earth and you can see to her physical appearance that she is a positive and a loving human being. When Sandara is in the Philippines, she speaks tagalog and still trying to communicate well around her. She may not have a high pitch voice compare to other Filipino singers but she has sweet voice that attracts not only younger generation but also oldies. And as I have seen her in yt videos .. her appearance did not change she is still the same Sandara of the Philippines whose sweet and warm hearted little girl. I still remember Sandara’s audition in Star Circle Quest. I instantly became a fan, like most of the Filipinos watching the show. Her line, “Mahal ko kayo” while crying will always be iconic. At that time, Filipinos were not that fascinated with K-pop and K-dramas yet (this was a year after the meteoric rise of Meteor Garden in the Philippines, hence, the winner of the show who has an uncanny resemblance to one of the F4 had a huge following and eventually won the show).
What I wanted to say was that Dara won our hearts because aside from how adorable she is, we appreciated the fact that despite living in a country completely foreign to her, it was evident that she embraced and loved the Philippines as if she were our own. Dara will always be loved. Mahal ka namin. ❤️

This is so on point. Philippines became so into K-pop because of Sandara Park. And then the Korean Drama being followed after her fame is another next level of the Korean Thing being known in the entire Philippines. The Full House is one of those drama that made the Korean Culture's became more and more popular in the Philippines. Then here comes Rain, the guy who starred in the Full House K-drama that made all Filipina fell in love with. And the rest is history. 😅

Filipinos love her so much coz she is so adorable and genuine that even though she can't give it all due to language barrier, yet you can still see on her eyes that she is doing her best.
Her decision to transition her career to Korea was a very good choice, coz her popularity declined when Kim Chui came in especially that her love team to real-life boyfriend joseph didn't make it big compared to hero. the attention of the filipinos turned to kim (another singkit which filipinos were fond of during those days coz of meteor garden fever) plus her love-team with Gerald.
So glad that she was able to make it not just in Korea but as an international Idol. Until now Filipinos still love Sandara, she will always be our "Pambansang Krong-Krong" who loves to say " Mahal ko kayo" with ✋!
