SCP 674 is a "Zapper" light gun peripheral for the Nintendo Entertainment System, consistent with other models that were bundled with the NES in North America after 1985.
When SCP674 is aimed and fired at any video screen, the user perceives that he or she has fired a shot into the displayed scene. Any physical object within the scene, whether live or previously recorded, will react appropriately in context. People who are shot will appear to die or be wounded, and other people in the scene will duck, take cover or flee off camera.
The most notable result of use of SCP-674 is that it is permanent and can lead to very unusual experiences for the viewer. If a subject uses the device to shoot a character in a television series, they will forever perceive that they have changed the continuity of the series.

Indeed. Quite a few. But the fact it actually does lethal damage is a bit scary because you technically have all the power while the characters can only watch and react, maybe retaliate of they are feeling up to it.

The biggest anomalous property of the exposition gun is that it can somehow alert the SCP foundation to its presence and use, despite the only real effects of it existing entirely in the minds of the users.

You can have a harmless object still be classified as keter just due to containing it can be too hard, cost efficient

if used carefully,this gun can be used as a fun way to alter the story of a movie or show. Like for exemple.let's say you watch a horror movie where a killer or creature chase after a character,you can use the gun to either distract the killer/creature or slow them/it down by using the environment against them,like shooting at a chain/rope holding aheavy object to make it fall on the killer/creature. From this point on,the character can manage to get away and maybe have a chance at surviving or at least survive for a bit longer depending on who/what exactly is pursuing the character. Then from this point on the story can change slightly or drastically depending on what happen.

Also, if you shot someone with SCP-674, rewinded the TV, and didn’t shoot them, would that undo the effects or would the episode play as though the shot still happens?
And also if for example i make a video on a city of lets say manila and i captured many people from my Phone and later on shoot them every person on that camera video what would gonna happen? Does the person me who film the video gonna run away? Or just stay still
Considering what happened with the cuphead scenario, its most likely that the character you just shot, WILL remain dead even after you rewind the TV or some other video/footage. Or being that the character in question will still be alive after the TV/video is rewinded and will later be dead in the same time/scene/scenario in which you shot them.

Fictional characters in a television show will react consistently within the established parameters of their setting, while firing into news reports or documentaries will produce a realistic reaction. Therefore, shooting at an actor in an interview will produce a different result than shooting at the same actor who is currently portraying an invincible cyborg in a science fiction movie.
Animated cartoons can also be affected, although "cartoon logic" produces wildly unpredictable results ranging from causing a character to momentarily be obscured by a puff of smoke and be covered with soot afterward, to [DATA EXPUNGED]"
@@FullWaterBananaFromPHAs for you, it depends on the context of the scenario and shooting. For example, were you capturing the people from the said city yourself or by external means? Aka not interfering and instead letting someone else or an remote controlled object do it for you.
If you were talking about you YOURSELF capturing those people, then here's your answer. 1: If you were doing it BEFORE you learned of the existence of such scp(s)/anomaly(ies), you'd most likely panic since you wouldn't know where the shot came from and if you had a weak mind or were weak-willed.
2: If you knew about it beforehand and have done the action at that time with full conscience of what is about to transpire, then you'd probably either get perturbed for a good second before regaining composure and remaining calm since you yourself already know what is happening, or what you would want to believe is happening and hoping that it isnt a higher being using an scp trying to kill you (aka meta-tought and shaiz, and eventual insanity if you think about it too much). By then the you from the video would most likely either walk away from the scene knowing how it happened and the experiment was a success (but most likely run from there to not get arrested on the spot or shot by higher beings l0l). Or just simply break the fourth wall and start having a conversation with yourself because why not? "Clones" and Meta is cool and all lol.
Also this is all just hyphotetical thinking since I am not sure how it would even affect your memory. But it would most likely not do anything since you'd be shooting an alternate/lower dimension with the exact same principles/stuff as yours. And then the you from there would start to also have the exact same toughts as you and thus birth a small meta-crisis or smh, which would anyways be a very low chance of happening. Also depending on your toughts, mind processing and all.
Did DR Bob just admit that there are things that technically could kill him? Because usually at the end of every video he is either friends with what ever creature or is casually holding, wearing or sitting on whatever item/s or inside whatever location.

I saw it on another video with all info about it. Dr. Bob changed it up a bit with Mr. S. With the context of the scp file, the person who killed Mr. S was most likely Yakko Warner from the Animaniacs while he was singing all the countries in the world. I forgot what exactly happened, but I think he missed the shot and said he would come back for him soon. Regular people/characters woud die or survive depending on the show or game, but for characters who constantly break the 4th wall will kill you shortly after

@@TrueLadyEvilChan Nah, the implication is actually just that a researcher tried to use the gun while watching episodes of Star Trek to start killing off the Enterprise crew. However, they discovered that shots aimed at Kirk would result in him dodging or taking nonlethal wounds and stray bullets hitting redshirts, the other members of the crew figure out how to stay safe by hiding in "blind spots" where the gun can't hit them, and then Spock comes up with some wacky technobabble solution involving inverting polarities of phaser frequencies and saves the day--with the implication being that said "saving the day" also somehow destroyed the researcher's laptop.
Basically, SCP-674 abides by the rules of the universe you're shooting at, and "there is a mysterious gunman from an unseen world trying to kill the crew of the Enterprise" is something that could absolutely be a Star Trek episode plot and would therefore have the characters react accordingly to combat the problem.
As for the fate of Uncle S, the most common guess I've seen of his fate is that someone from another world shot _him_ with their universe's equivalent of the gun. After all, the SCP Foundation is as much a fictional world as any other.

For those wondering, Mr. S was likely killed by an altered version of SCP 5999.
SCP-674 is normally harmless, but if you use it too much on live action news, in a universe (like the SCP universe) where it works, then eventually the small metaverse you are attacking will have their own SCP foundation, which very meta fictional characters can warn you, and you will be killed eventually.
SCP 5999 is a method to kill people who are controlling our universe from an upper layer of reality. The lower metaverse 0-5 Council likely on the other side of the camera likely used something similar to SCP 5999, to kill Mr. S, who did ridiculous amounts of damage to their universe. The normal SCP 5999 is usually a set of candle pictures that memetically kills you, but its likely their SCP Foundation crafted a simple gun to do the same damage after analyzing the effects of 674's attacks.
The reason WE are safe from SCP 5999, is because we live in a world where anomalies don't really exist, and memetic kill images certainly don't exist. The 0-5 council doesn't know this, so SCP 5999 is normally futile to the real world. However, fictional SCP Foundations can kill other SCP Foundations that exist above them in the metaverse.
If you look at the actual file for SCP-674, a researcher who took the SCP out for testing and attempted to use it on Star Trek met a similar fate. He found himself unable to hit any main character, as his shots were always blocked by Red Shirts, and after becoming aware of the researcher, the characters began sticking to the camera's blind spots, while working on a way to fight back. Spock eventually manages to "reverse the polarity" of a phaser and they return fire, leading to the the laptop playing the show being partially melted and the researcher seemingly disintegrated, as his body wasn't found.

So every time SCP 674 is used, it creates a parallel timeline within the display device it was used on and said timeline can only be perceived by the user. Interesting that Uncle S does not perceive his affected timeline in the laptop. Only the TV. That means I can shoot Dr. Bob in my laptop but I can still enjoy his voice performance on my phone.

For those of you non-retrophiles out there, the Zapper was an attachment or accessory to the NES in the Mid 80's, not too similar to the Konami Laserscope (basically an early headset) or Nintendo's R.O.B. unit....both of which saw limited usage.....for specific games like Duck Hunt (Since it is Light Gun) games like Gyroscope (Also Light Operated) Laserscope was more voice activated, and you had to say "FIRE!" Into the mic loud enough for it to hear....not exactly something appropriate for trigger-focused games.
also TV's and consoles like the NES had no HDMI (wasn't around yet) at least back in the 80's.

Interesting exception i noticed in this vid too tho, it seems as tho the pre-explanation story did infact involve a character from the scp file, Mr S. That’s actually pretty cool. The file’s section on Mr S. Seemed to start at his assassination of the president & ends at his death in scp foundation confinement. So that means him being characterized as an ultra deadbeat uncle and the segment involving the kids was entirely original.
I think that’s pretty cool! To my knowledge first instance of this happening, and the dialogue Mr. S. Gets in this vid really solidifies his character.
Whatever chaos SCP 674 brings to your screen, Roadrunner cartoons will always stay the same.

That is the one thing that'd kill the fun for me is that it forever alters your perception of the characters afterward.
I think it only affects the screen you shoot them on.
For example, the girl shot Aang on Uncle S's TV, but if she were to watch Avatar at home on her own TV, he would be alive and well.

So, somewhere in the metaverse, they found their own version of scp-674 and shot him through their own screen, scp-674 both in our universe and the universe of the tv characters is the only thing able to shoot bullets to either side. That's what I got from the ending anyway, he was talking back into the camera just like the characters on tv did before they got shot themselves.
But that doesn't make sense. If they used their own SCP-674, wouldn't that mean that it would just be something only they see? Like, he'd still be alive to anyone else in that universe?

Maybe, but it you use it too much on live action news, in a universe (like the SCP universe) where it works, then eventually the small metaverse you are attacking will have their own SCP foundation, and use something similar to SCP 5999 on you.
SCP 5999 is a method to kill people who are controlling our universe. The metaverse 0-5 Council likely on the other side of the camera likely used something similar to SCP 5999, to kill Mr. S, who did ridiculous amounts of damage to their universe. The normal SCP 5999 is usually a set of pictures that memetically kills you, but its likely their SCP Foundation crafted a simple gun
The reason WE are safe from SCP 5999, is because we don't live in a world where anomalies exist.
In other words, if you have this gun, then that means you are suddenly in a universe where this gun works, and that means the 0-5 Council in live action news can kill you with something similar to SCP 5999.

It's interesting because as a community based project, SCP is kind of already a metaphor for it existing. All of us have the power to change the reality of what Doctor Bob puts on screen at any time. All you would have to do is make it an interesting, and beloved anomaly, and SCP-Dr Bob 360 No Scope With NES Lightgun becomes a thing on this channel. Bringing it canonically to life. And you have even more power than the guy in the video, you can do more than take narrative lives, you can do anything.

As much as I would like to think internet trolling is what helped the foundation catch onto Uncle S, I can't help but think his own niece and nephew had a small part in him being captured by the foundation as well. No way they kept quiet about a gun-controller that can shoot and kill characters on tv shows and video games when it was the most fun they had during their visit.

I really like this idea and concept and story. The only thing that doesn’t exactly make sense for me is the ending. Perhaps the toy gun can actually be used on the user of the toy gun, with REAL affects to the victim irl rather than just what would actually happen if just some random person on TV or camera was shot while never using the toy gun before.
