_"...she's a bit of a narcissist..."_ A _bit?_ 😁 Yeah, Daisy grew on me as well, which I wouldn't have expected when she was first introduced. Thanks for another great reaction!
LoL, "That f'd up my head." Me too!
I’ve always felt that George was ‘special’. She saw the Gravelings in the pool. One was ready to ‘reap’ her, but the other ‘talked’ him out of it, to leave her alone for now. Maybe, because fate had other plans for her?… Rube says that you can see Gravelings out of the corner of your eyes, but from the beginning George can see them clearly head on! That scene in church with Stan always makes me cry. I think Stan’s story is personal to creator Bryan Fuller.
I loved Daisy's little prayer at the end, confirming she was taking Stan seriously.
The Gravelings don't do the reaping. They just create the conditions when it's your time.
@@grumpyboomer61 that’s why I wrote it as ‘reap’. It’s shorter than saying setting up a chain of events that will result in an incident that will lead to the person’s demise. NUTS! I ended up writing it anyway.
What if the gravelings were there for the girl George was supposed to push in the water? She might have saved her live by not pushing her.
When George was pushed in, the gravelings recognized the future toilet-seat-girl and left her alone for that reason (it it just wasn't her time yet..)
Awesome, good job, nice recap
Would have been interesting if Stan's soul had been played by a woman.
That would have cool
LOVED this episode when it came out, stuck with me for years. No idea why. Anyway, I'm a girl now :P
(I'm going with "she" here because feels right for the character as presented, but no worries on your use since it doesn't really say)
But seriously for the time that aspect was pretty well done and sympathetic. Given that someone has to die on this show to get to know them, I appreciate the death was pure accident because others were being shallow vs her more deeply held need (that early 00s "plastic surgery is shallow" attitude sucks, but at least it was used well here). That time period, that idea of needing to do certain things to "be a woman" were still pretty strong, especially if you think of the maybe 80s Stan would have been growing up in, and the baseline of "transition and disappear" wa still quite prevalent, although the culture was starting to push towards recognizing that someone simply was who they are even if they haven't managed to do anything. Name and guy clothes could be to avoid harassment, and it can be complicated presenting as yourself when there's these... mental barriers in the way. So it always worked pretty well to me, given the time.
Main change I'd have liked to see, is just have Daisy ask what her real name is, because doing what she was doing, she all but certainly had a chosen name, and it would have helped make it just a bit more personal, given the amount of time the character had. But Daisy treating her correctly without the least prompting was amazing, and that little prayer as a confirmation.
Season 2, we really get a lot of growth from Daisy, Mason, everybody. It's why the desire for a season 3 was so strong.
