    Hi Mick, just found these.vids. I'm going back over 50 years here but I seem to remember that the Enfield had it's footrests on a hex bar and that bar fitted the internal hex on the forks so you used that bar with the rests on the bar with another bar across them to remove/refit the fork legs.

      You are right about the footrest through bolt, I didn't know that it was the same size as the Allen head in the fork top. Interestingly the rear wheel spindle on Hondas was the right size to work as the extractor for the alternator. I wonder if Honda and Enfield did it on purpose or was it just serendipity.

    I use Duck Oil - it has more oil than solvent - WD 40 is ok for dispersing water but as a lubricant it dries up and makes matters worse - Stay Safe

    You remind me of someone else who is losing their memory. I can't remember his name though.

    I had a super meteor in the sixties which was a 500. It was a complete wreck but went like stink. Wish I had it now. Love the videos keep them coming

      Yes when you think about all of the hoopla over Bonnevilles and Road Rockets and they all produced less power than the Enfield twins.

    Another witches brew that works on things that PB Blaster is a little reluctant to loosen up is a mixture of ATF and acetone. You can apply via pump type oiler, or a turkey basting brush.

    So true about parts book. I often don't bther with a Haynes if i can get one.
    The forks FEEL like a left hand thread but of course, you're working from the "bottom" of the thread (if that makes sense) It caught me out first time ;-)

      Yes I can't count the number of times I have tried turning things the wrong way when you are working on the opposite end to the head.

    The creeping clicking sound from the hydraulic ramp is really annoying. Just saying😀

    Another fine video, thank you Mr. Waller. Is that red bike lift the one from Harbor Freight? If so, do you recommend it? Thanks.

      Hello Malcolm. Yes it is Harbor Freight and I have a couple of friends who have the same. All of us are happy with them. Certainly you can't beat them at the price. Thanks for watching.

    Super informative. I probably wont ever find one, but thanks for doing these. One question, if it was sold as an Indian, in the American market, would have been SAE or Whitworth threaded? Just curious.

    • @BritanniaMotorcycles
      @BritanniaMotorcycles  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They were manufactured in Redditch UK so all of the threads were BSC (British Standard Cycle) which all have a 26TPI up to 1/2".

    Hi Mike the gloves you’re using in this video... where can I get them please? I’m in the UK .. very interesting vid 👍

    • @BritanniaMotorcycles
      @BritanniaMotorcycles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are just cotton gloves with rubberised palms. You can get them at hardware shops and garden centres etc here.

    Save your money on PB blaster it is over priced trash---ATF 50% +50% Kerosine or ATF 50%+Acetone 50% works at least 3 times better
